Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Thread: Everyone wants it, no one uses it

Wait, EA Access vault? Fuuu, I just bought it :/

Contact Xbox Customer Support, they're usually pretty good with refunds. You shouldn't have a problem if you've only just bought it.

Although I should probably check my games and apps to make sure it's in there. Back in a minute.

EDIT: Not showing up for me so I'd hold off on that refund for now

Yeah check as its not coming up on my mates console but it was in my games list. Updating the ea access app to see if it shows there

So how does EA Acess work with 360 titles anyway? I recall that 360 games don't have the timer of when a sub runs out tied to them. So wouldn't that be the same case with EA Acess? You wouldn't be able to redownload it, but it wouldn't have a timer saying you can no longer play would it?

Getting it for a month soon anyway to play mirrors edge, but I'm wondering if that were to happen if I would still be able to play skate 3 without the disc (I have the disc but it would be nice not to use it and not have to rebuy digitally)

No EA Access....you lose access to EA access games

Yeah I was reading about that earlier.

If not full blown physical BC like the 360, I really wouldn't mind if at the very least they threw what they can get the rights to up for a quick "remaster" with upscaled resolution and Xbox live integration (Achievements!), like they are doing for the upcoming Phantom Dust re-release.

The Xbox is the only console from that gen without a good emulator, and it really sucks watching gems like KotOR or Otogi get lost with time.

What I don't get with BC is why I get some of those games for free despite never having downloaded the "downloadable" Games on Demand version on the 360 ? I can download, install and play most games at will without them asking for the payment details.

I only ever played the first Assassin's Creed, yet I can download and play Assassin's Creed 2 for free. i did have the disc version of Rainbow Six Vegas 2 on the 360 (the original Vegas is my favorite 360 game!). I saw it in my BC list, was able to download and play it on the XBO hard drive without the disc, and again without paying for it.

There are many other examples I could list, I just find it strange. There are other games where I can't download/install without having paid for them first. Just curious as to why some games I can (without ever owning the Games on Demand version on the 360 console). Those games that I do have the disc version of on the BC list..... just let me download and play straight away, not even asking for the disc.

Man, I finally have a use for those long ass sticks that came with the Elite controller: they're awesome for trickin'! Sucks even more we don't have a proper Skate game this gen :(

Ever have someone else log on to your console with their profile and set it as the home console? Or did you buy your console used?

You'll get access to all the games from any account that has your hardware set as its home console.

Both games you mention were GWG at some point.
You pay for Gold?

Console was a new purchase from a proper retail store (and console itself had a manufacture date barely a month before I purchased it). Nobody else but myself has logged on to it - only my XBL account is on the console (which I've had since 2006).

Yes I have had a gold subscription since 2006. Didn't renew it when it ran out in 2014...... but renewed it again once I purchased the XBO a few months ago. Those are only two games, I'll find a few others that I've never played (or downloaded) before and list them. It's not EVERY BC title mind you, but quite a few.

Si BTW I'm going to be on the briefing tomorrow so excited

Very nice! Will there be a live stream?

And why do I have a gut feeling that BO2 or MW1 or MW2 will be announced as backwards compatible tomorrow? It would be great..... "Our most requested game is BO2 and as of tonight you can play it on Xbox One!"

I keep checking xbldb to see if they've gone on sale... nothing yet...

The last few days have been great with Mass Effect 2 & 3, Skate 3 (though I admit I don't care much for it) and Guardian Heroes. Let's hope they still have a few more aces up their sleeve.

Another game that I would really like is Top Spin 4. I thought it had a PC version but it turns out it does not. Given that tennis games have been completely forgotten for a while, it would be good to have this gem playable on a modern machine. Unfortunately, I am guessing that it's another one of those games that won't be BC due to licensing problems.
