Preview program is opening up to all xbox 1 owners soon. A name change is also on the cards.
 
I'm sorry if this has been answered a million times but I couldn't really find a clear answer: does backward compatibility only work with discs and digital titles you already own on your old 360, or can I just boot up an Xbox One, go to the online store and download RDR if I want? I think I'm about to jump in to the Xbox world and am trying to figure things out.

Yes, you can purchase digital Xbox 360 titles digitally from the online store or on the Xbox One dashboard. Or just insert the disc if you have it.

So I just recently bought an Xbox One S. I never thought I'd own an Xbox but I really wanted a UHD blu-ray player and the deal was too good to pass up.

Any recommendations for worthwhile 100% Xbox exclusive BC games to try out? Ones that have never been on PC, PS3, or PS4 (since I already play most things on those).

I actually bought GOW4 for PC a month ago and a part of that is that I was supposed to get download codes for the earlier games (but, obviously, for Xbox only). Still nothing, though. It's frustrating because now I could actually play them.

The gears codes have always been a mess. Same issue with the remaster too. Try live chat they might be able to help you.
 
Nice that Skate 3 is finally available.
Here's hoping that BlOps 2 comes to BC soon, so I can finish the campaign and then finally start the copy of BlOps 3 that I've had for a year. And then if AssCreed Rogue could drop for BC, that would be swell too. After that I would only need Fable Anniversary and then everything else that could come to BC would just be icing on the top.

Awesome, thanks! I'll give them a shot.

I posted on the official Microsoft support forums but I was one of MANY who haven't received their codes. So no idea if they're still working all that out.
 
I am so happy having my precious Guardian Heroes on BC. Plays sooo nice with an Elite controller.

Now all I really want is Daytona (of the games I already owned).
 
So....are we expecting some sort of announcement tomorrow to celebrate the one-year anniversary of Backward Compatibility's launch...?

Didn't Larry hint last week that we should expect...something?

Oh shieeet, I really want this as well, I never really got into the Fable games, but I love the art style so much, it reminds me of Christmas atmosphere for some reason. Very jolly atmosphere.
Maybe Phil will announce it at the Xbox Mexico event in 1.25 hours??

ive got a lot of nostalgia for it. the music is really good, too
man i hope theres some announcements but im not getting my hopes up
 
Whoa, Fable 2 is available with this as well? As a new Xbox owner this excites me given that this game never reached the PC like the other ones.
 
Glad Skate 3 is finally available but I'm really bummed that the create a park mode still has such horrible framerate issues. I guess I wasn't really expecting it to be better, but I was hoping the additional horsepower would have been able to smooth it out a bit.

I love this game so much, but cannot stand playing in the created parks because of the frames. Its a true shame too. Making your own parks is how I spent at least half my time in the old THPS and Dave Mirra games.

They did tease all of them (except for Halo 4) at E3 2015.
They also did state that the Halo franchise (as well as Gears of War, Fable, Crackdown, etc.) were 100% dedicated to the BC program at Gamescom 2015.

ODST is missing Firefight.
3 is missing customization, still has bugged Forge, an saveable films.
4 is missing it's customization (and it had even MORE of that than 3), is missing a ton of the special armors, and IIRC player trait zones don't work in the MCC version.


The case is stronger for 4 and ODST than 3, but there's definitely benefits to being able to play the 360 versions.

My only hope is that they would finally make all the DLC for the 360 Halos free.
