Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Thread: Everyone wants it, no one uses it

So this week I took my 360 out of my TV cabinet and packed it up out of the way because pretty much everything I would want to play on it is BC on the Xbox One now that ME2 and ME3 are playable. I think the only thing now that I'm waiting on is the MGS HD collection.

I still don't understand why this never got a native port over the Xbox One seeing as it came out on the 360 after the Xbox One came out.

If it was the same news I also saw, they just took a screenshot of the game hub from the console, but the game hub is available for pretty much any X1/360 game so it's not proof for anything. Even a Store page is not enough confirmation, as Bomberman Live and Geometry Wars 2 both had a page iirc but are not BC.
 
Do I really need to buy the online pass for ME3? Really? I thought they dropped that nonsense. Sucks because I played ME3 on PS3 so I never owned a 360 copy.
 
Man the Xbox Instagram posted a picture of the OG Xbox and I almost died of excitement thinking that they added OG Xbox BC to Xbox One. Quit playing games with my heart.

It was such a weird release.

Released on 360.. but not remade from the original code. It's actually a port of the game to Unreal, for some reason.

Then they released it on PC afterwards. Both of these after the One came out.

Then they were like "we're done here"

If I remember correctly, Phil told Ryan from IGN that it's not happening yet and to quit getting people overhyped. That was like a week or two ago. I don't think he would've said it if they were planning on announcing it today. The two biggest BC announcements would be OG Xbox BC or Windows 10 360 BC.
 
So quick question about Mass Effect 1-3

So I want to desperately play these games in englisch but they are set to German by default and I can't find a way to change it.

Would setting my console to English and re-downloading them solve my problem? If not, how can I get the English versions?

Store and Language were set to Germany/German at the time of the download

Major Nelson just went on Reddit and posted that he never said there was a "huge" announcement but more of a celebration, expect fan favourite titles to be announced

I think you're right about that.
And repeatedly the Xbox team spent last night's Fanfest event in Mexico City talking about the 15th anniversary of Xbox coming on November 15th. So if anything, I'd expect a small announcement then (Tuesday).

Let myself think that we'd be getting some of the bigger titles.
Personally hoping for TES IV: Oblivion and Dead Space 2
 
What are the chances of some previously disc only games making it across? Like:

The Club
MvC3
Stranglehold
VF5 Vanilla
Virtua Tennis 3

Im kinda praying I can eventually replace all my discs digitally. I have about 12 or so left but many are Guitar Hero and Kinect games.

Just guessing but The Club is the most likely one, maybe VF5 Vanilla. I wouldn't hold my breath on the others though, MvC3 needs the Marvel licence again, Midway went under who I believe published Stranglehold plus that might have some weird John Woo licence that they won't bother to get, and Virtua Tennis has a bunch of players names and appearances which I highly doubt they'd re-licence. Anything is possible though, these are just educated guesses.

Your best bet would be to uninstall them and set the language to English and the store/region to US. Redownload them. That shoul do the trick.

I guess I get why people want this, but splitting the online user base instead of incentivising picking up FS really does a number on the potential online population resurgence for the best version of VF5.

i don't think anyone wants vanilla for multiplayer, just single player due to quest mode
