Ryse is average so far. The combat is a little clunky and the story is average, don't like it.
Random question, does anyone know why there was a last minute wednesday supply of consoles?
Some day one editions even - how does that work? Cancelled preorders? Last minute shipment from MS? Some units held back to satisfy late comers?

No. Since BF4 is native 720p it'll output that exact resolution without any upscaling/downscaling.

Same here :-(. We need some community PC drivers for this thing. The disparity between 360 controller and the one isn't as large as DS3 to DS4, so I can easily switch back and forth between controllers without getting that eww, last gen feeling, but I'd much rather use the One controller on PC now!
Cancelled and moved around preorders, I think today Gamestop is trying to get people to preorder the extra walk-in stock.
So my impressions after a lengthy muck around with the console:
Hardware: top notch. Great stuff. Kinect is solid and the console is quiet. The controller is perfect. Had worries initially about the bumpers but once you actually start playing they feel perfectly placed. The new rumble feature is really awesome such a great addition.
UI: still getting a hang of it. Really fast and there doesn't seem to be any slowdown. Voice commands seem to work great. Definitely has a learning curve though.
The games: still haven't played Ryse will leave that till tomorrow. BF4 took forever to install, and i'm hoping they work on those speeds. I'm not sure if this applies to other gamess as well but I could start playing at aproximately 9%. Don't be fooled though takes a while to get that number. Graphics are superb and there didn't seem to be any hiccups.
All in all great first experience. Can't wait to jump back in tomorrow. Goodnight guys.

any impressions on the pre season kinect game?
Game are going a steelbook one for £40 but you get £5 live credit and a free KI character and steel tin and a day one membership card (whatever that does?)

Anyone know if the license for digital purchases work the exact same for X1 as they do for X360? My brother is buying the digital version of Ryse for his system and wants to see if he can buy it on my machine using his account so that both of us have access to it, assuming it does work like X360 where the first console purchased and downloaded to has access for all gamertags registered to it while the gamertag account that made the purchase has access to it on another console so long as it is logged into Live.
Sounds quite nice. Really impressed with how the system itself seems to be shaping up so far. Seems like it is really well made, which is top priority for me.
Really struggling with the decision to grab this at midnight, here in the UK. Don't have a preorder, but I've heard Tesco is first come, first serve. I've had the PS4 preordered forever, with the intention to grab the X1 later next year. But Dead Rising 3 almost alone is really tempting me to pick it up at launch. I'll be leaving myself pretty tight if I grab both. Damn, don't know what to do.

Had a look around the dashboard but can't find out how to stream music from PC while playing a game. Don't tell me they took this out with the video streaming. Can only see options to download videos and music through the apps from the store.

With Astro headsets and the like not working with the One until an adapter is released later this year, does this mean that audio converter boxes will also not work, or?

Mediamarkt here are only doing one package online at 525 but it includes CoD: Ghosts.
They seem to be selling them now though since this morning they've been available to reserve and pickup within 2 hours.

BF4 is unplayable on PS4, with no sign of a fix, the first big game on PS4 is Second Son so PS4 can wait, if there is nothing that takes your fancy
but as many reviewers have said, go with what games appeal to you the most

Anyone here know how GameStop handles extra consoles? Someone told me that they sell vouchers for the extra consoles they received at 6PM when they allow people to come pay off their preorders? Is this true?

Now you have a "home" console. If you buy a game on another console, it's assigned to the home console afaik.
but this has a benefit. like... you make your brothers console your home console... and sign into yours... when you buy a game it's available to him. and he also gets XBL Gold off your account too.
we need to get this all confirmed, at least in practice.

That's a really good sign for it. There's got to be a few thousand in the wild by now and not a single problem has popped up on Twitter or reddit.
Call Walmart and ask how many units they have over preorder numbers, only way to know for sure.
