Question for you tech types out there.. I have an issue.
So I have a couple year old Denon Receiver AVR-3500 I think), it does NOT have HDMI 2.1. I also have a Samsung NU8000, which supports some of the 2.1 features, ALLM, VRR (to 48 or 60 I think) and maybe a couple others.
Problem..
If I connect my Series X to the TV directly, and use ARC for the audio to the receiver, I only get Dolby Digital, ATMOS and DTS:X do not work. I believe this is because the TV does not have "eARC"?
If I connect my Series X to the receiver, and the receiver to the TV, ATMOS and DTS:X work, but I do not get ALLM or VRR to work. This is because the receiver is not passing the "2.1" features through to the Xbox?
Is there a workaround? Sucks to have a bad ass box and only get half of the cool features at any one time.
Is fate telling me I need a 77" OLED?
