man! Im playing Ghost Recon Breakpoint right now on my One X. IS there any improvement on the Series X? I'd definitely stop playing now and resume next week if at least framerrate is closer to 60.

mine arrived. Havent played an ass-creed game since black flag.I hear its cheaper to buy some xbox live gold cards to convert to ultimate. Do they usually have good deals for black friday?
Or should i just get some now, not sure how long the $1 ultimate deal is going to last.

I unfortunately don't have any way of checking without the guide, but every once in awhile I'm seeing pop-ups for more finished downloads so it seems to still have space. I think I just overloaded it with too many downloads at once

I have no way of testing but it FEELS way smoother on the Series X. I didn't even remember there being a patch announced but last night the new darkest night patch changed the icon to include the X | S badge as optimized.. So it must be doing something.
I'd love to see a professional assessment, but the new patch + Series X makes it feel great.

Ok i gotta say i LOVE THIS SYSTEM so far... except for the 1TB hard drive limitation. I knew this was going to be an issue. I currently have eight games loaded that i saw were previewed as enhanced and had around 220gb still free. Then i realized i had to click into EACH game to trigger the optimization downloads. Anywhere from 20 to 70GB each extra. Dammit. I have Destiny 2 loaded and it doesn't even have the enhancements yet... i dont think i'm going to have enough space and i'm going to have to delete at least one

Yeah i have 466 games total right now.. i moved over mostly MP stuff i play with the wife and kiddos and then also Forza Horizon 4 and Gears Tactics for some variety. So... Apex Legends, Destiny 2, Modern Warfare, Borderlands 3, Gears 5, Fortnite, Gears Tactics, Forza Horizon 4. I might drop Gears 5 to make room for Destiny 2 enhancements once they're out. Fuck i wanted to include Master Chief Collection but no way in hell i'll have room once optimizations are out. Time to start saving for that external 1TB i guess haha

Also curious about this.
I've got a 4 TB external and I would be interested to find out what I would be missing leaving my existing library on the external and saving the internal for new gen games. Would load times on a Series X external be basically the same as the One X?

From what I can parse from all the reviews, yes there is a very minimal load time change by playing BC games off the external.
They need to be on the SSD to really take advantage.

When I first started downloading I was getting ~180mbps, now I've slowed to between 10-20mbps. That's megabit per sec.

For fuck's sake. This is happening on the XSX? I had this problem with the Xbox One X. E100 means an update didn't install correctly. Try going to this link and see if it fixes your friend's problem :A friend of mine got this message, he's tried resetting the console, unplugging it for a hour.He gets this
message every single time.

Is quick resume not working for anyone else? Literally cannot get it to work and can’t see any option for it in the settings. I can open gears 5, get to the menu, then change to FH4, get in game, then switch back to gears and it has to load from scratch again. Go back to FH4 and again, load from scratch. Also gears says I have to download all the modes, yet there’s no update and nothing in the queue and gears is only 55gb on my HDD when the update alone was more than that.
Edit: ok it works with pubg but not gears 5 or Forza horizon 4.....wtf. Works with Ori 2 as well, so I think my Forza and gears installs are broken or something

Interesting. wasn'tthe ps5 supposed to be having some secret weapon-tier freaking SSD that fucks your mom and delivers your game to you in record time? That's not even faster than what I get with a below-average speed SSD on PC, with my Micron 1100.
the new XBox seems to be getting really good gains in terms of loading tho.

Do you remember how you fixed it? I told him to hard reboot and try clearing the storage if he can.
He said it just got stuck on the installing update screen then went to the error msg after about 5 minutes.
When he switches it on now it goes to the installing update screen then to the error screen.

We had to get the update from Xbox.com put it on a USB stick and then cover our eyes, pat our bellies and stick our tounge out the right way until it worked. (Took 3 or 4 tries)
The Series X is so new though I don’t know if today’s day 1 patch is up to download yet. He may have to get on the line with support and see if there’s a link he can get to the latest firmware, or if there is another workaround.
I know my gf thought the Xbox had reset for too long so she powered it off and turned it back on and that’s what corrupted hers.

I always preorder my consoles from amazon and have never had any issues. My SX arrived punctually yesterday. My Xbox friends sadly all had their orders delayed by a day (so today is the day for them), which brings me to...:
I really like toying around with Quick Resume. I can see the appeal of it, especially when you play 2 new SP titles and jump between them. The instant resume without loading a checkpoint is a game changer.
Too bad there is absolutely no interesting next gen game to play. I literally struggled myself through the Game Pass list to find something I want to play... settling on Minecraft Dungeons (great game btw, hope they push out crossplay soon).

Well I’m loading up a bunch of games on both systems. I decided to play through Ori 2 and Gears Tactics on XSS to start. I’m curious to try it on my 1440p monitor and see if it enables a setting for that res on XSS or XSX.
I wish they would have brought FS 2020 over from PC for launch. Would have been a good showcase title.

Not sure how the series X works, but I think in XB1 X you had to manually select 1440 if you wanted it to display at that.
It may auto detect when you plug it into the monitor though.

Yeh the one x didnt default to 1440p on my 1440p monitor. Haven’t tried the Series X yet but might tonight.

You get downsampling from game's native resolution, is not going to run on, let say 1440p....just output at this resolution, if that make sense.

For some reason XSX won't show my Samsung HDR1500 QLED TV as HDR capable.. Nor will it support VRR. It works flawlessly with HDR and VRR on my old XOX.. It's kinda frustrating to not understand why this is happening.
Edit: I was too fast... I just had to go into and configure it in the TV settings.. Man what an amateur.. Works now!
Have to say, even though I'm a PC gamer I'm impressed by the experience so far. The BC enhancements are amazing for a console.

I had that problem, too, until I went into my tv hdmi input settings and forced HDMI 2.0 instead of 'Auto'. Then it finally showed the HDR10 option on Xbox and started flashing the HDR active icon at the start of supported games.
