Having not started S2 I don't know the context of this, but its not like a little extra weight would be easy to draw or readily apparent when viewed with clothes on. Hell, I was referred to as "lean" by my trainer even when I carried a 26% bodyfat. I dropped down to 19% (a 20lb change) and its barely noticeable just by looking.
The alternative I guess is to go full-Chihayafuru Shinobu-style.

Loved the first episode. However, I have family that has been bugging me to start them on a new Anime series. Usually I'll watch a series first, and then show it to them after I know it's I. A good story. II. It doesn't have anything too weird (fan service etc.) But it's Memorials Day, and my family wants to spend the day watching Anime (lol I know, they are weird).
Does this anime have any fan service or anything that would be embarrassing to show?

I can't do stretched anime. If the cowboy bebop blu ray can't do wide aspect without stretching then I'll watch it in black bars mode.
It has a tiny bit. It's a very sweet romance story but yeah not something you would watch with family. Maybe try something else. Anything in particular you're looking for we could give recommendations.

Ok, this has turned into a very mediocre series. With time, the moe and sweetness factor has turned from adorable to tiring. The awkwardness of both main characters isn't endearing at this point, their innocence reaches retarded levels. It seems next episode will have more drama, pity that the last two has made me not care about them.

If your family is into so bad it's good there's always Another. Similar over all tone and also horror.
Eh. I've shown them all the Ghibli films. Cowboy Beebop. Shingeki No Kyjojin. Golden Time. Toradora. All the films by Makoto Shinkai and Mamoru Hosoda. They even liked Nisekoi (lol which is a Harem. Although its fan service wasn't that heavy, and I would fast forward some parts). I'm sure I'm missing some.
To be clear, my family is all adults. I just don't want to have that awkward moment where i explain to them fan service. Maybe I'll just go with Samurai Champloo. They haven't seen that one yet.

Or you can go all out and show them Fate/Zero which has no fan service whatsoever.

Samurai Champloo Is an excellent choice. Fate Zero an even better choice but it would require more investment.

Edit: I'll probably just settle between these two. Well probably end up watching both. I can't thank you guys enough for your help! Saved me from some awkwardness plus they now have two really good shows to watch.

Yeah good point. It's been a while since I saw it. But eh, I feel the overall show is great that I can deal with that. Thankfully everyone is old, and are pretty liberal. I just don't want mindless fan service that is heavy throughout, because it then becomes harder to explain that away and it's just awkward.

I don't understand Tsukihime anime hate aside from it feeling rushed as hell but that's probably down to not playing the VN I guess.

From what I heard it's a decent show that feels almost nothing like the source material, and the joke is that the adaptation doesn't exist because it isn't an adaptation. I haven't watched the anime though.

To tell the truth, I was a little unsure about ending the show with another Robot Kazoku episode, since that whole joke seemed a little bit played out. Buuuuut I needn't have worried. Best episode yet, Robot Kazoku reigns supreme.

I personally find both viewpoints valid but side with Rider/Archer in this one from the fact that trying or wishing to change history is foolhardy. Sure Rider/Archer stem from their selfish personalities but they've come to terms with themselves in having no regrets in what they've done.

didn't recognize Saber as a King and more as a little girl. Archer never went that far and even acknowledged that she isn't wrong in what she thinks a King is supposed to be. Even if he was kind of mocking her while saying it. I agree that chasing the past is futile, but having the ideal that a King is a servant of the people, weak or strong, is a noble ideal. Rider pressed that a King must be a tyrant so he can be adored and remembered for being a true king

It is a noble ideal, I agree. But one cannot deny the success Alexander/Iskander had during his reign, regardless of its ultimate destruction. I won't spoil too much but throughout the rest of the series but Rider's speech resonates deep within Saber and will flesh her character out through the rest of the series.
One of the best too. What an amazing character arc.
