It's definitely doing better than my expectations.
I expected the sales to slow down a little bit in the summer periode but doing more than 1 million / month means it's accelerating. The fuck?

It did slow down a bit, but not as much as everyone expected.
It sold 4.2 in 2013, sold 3 mil in Jan/feb/march and sold another 3 mil the last 4 months. Went from 1million/month to 750k/month this year.

PS4 selling very well because it has balance of exclusives, 3rd party, price, power, indies, strong future etc., but Wii U has mostly nintendo games and few indies , so its useful only for those who like Nintendo games who are very less in numbers so its selling bad.

No, the masses buying the Ps4 are probably console gamers looking at sales of Watchdogs etc on Ps4. They like playing multiplatform on console.

PC gamers with consoles for exclusives are a different group I suspect.

+ the way they ended the last gen promotes longevity. PS3 is still getting support, PS4 will be the same throughout its lifetime. Competitors are a few tiers below in this regard.

We had a lot of delays on games this year, and it has led to both current gen consoles being rather sparse for games.
Every summer we get this horrible wait, with no games to tide us over.
Every new console goes through the headache of developer delays.

they just released a $399 sku. probably have too much pride for another "price drop" so soon. I'm personally waiting for a $299 sku.

oh i agree! even if MS drops the price to $350-, Sony could likely afford to drop it to the same price point w/o as much of a loss. my concern is that MS will be like Nintendo where they take a long time to offer system seller exclusive software until the point of no return. although its only coming up on the second year, given the U.S. economy and sort of vague nature of how long this 8th gen will last, i dont think its smart for MS to play the wait and see game. this could very likely be another 6th gen in terms of console sales ratios, which would greatly disadvantage MS and their user base.

sad to say but Mattrick royally fucked over the Xbox brand with the Xbox One. while the idea of gaminv shows like Quantum Break and Halo Nightfall were very pragmatic and smart, the other ideas like emphasis on Kinect, cable TV, and cable sports packaging was a disaster. it also doeant help that the system is less capable power wise to the PS4. MS should've just played it safe hardware wise and made a true successor to the Xbox360 and focused any risky ideas in the software side.

Agreed. And the fact that multiplatform games (usually) look and run best on PS4 (ignoring PC, of course) doesn't hurt either.
