Old time wrestling fan here, who stopped watching after the "Attitude era", but still reads the results of RAW and PPVs.

Just wondering was it that great of an idea to have Lesnar squash Cena? Is there anyone at all who can believably give Lesnar a run for his money? Or is he going to be booked in some goofy feud now where he turns face and gets jumped by that fat slob Wyatt?

There is no way in hell that Lesnar will ever turn face, Wyatt turning face is more likely

That's kind of the point. Monster heels have always been a Vince thing.

Is Vince still running things? If so then he'll be a face within the year. Unless this is some short title reign, and they come up with a reason to strip Lesnar of the belt down the line.

So you don't watch the show but you're positive that your fantasy booking is going to happen and you think it's dumb?
k

Bray is a in such a bad spot. He struggled to beat old man Jericho after losing to him once already. FANDANGO GOT A CLEANER WIN IN A JERICHO FEUD. He can't even hope to stand in the same ROOM as Lesnar.

And the whole "Bray doesn't need wins!" is such bullshit. Casual fans care about that. If you're almost always losing, it doesn't matter how cool you talk or how fun your entrance is. Nobody will care about your matches or buy into you as a character in any meaningful way.

Bray should've had steady midcard wins and Jericho, if anything, should've been his first major feud after the Bryan thing went bust the way it did. Harper and Rowan should've been tag champions.

WWE fucks up so much, man.

The guy that ended Taker's streak and crushed a 15 time world champ... they're not seriously going to have Reigns be the guy to take him down, are they? I'm horrified to see what happens over the next few months.

Bray Wyatt is going to use dark magic to fuse Undertaker and Roman's bodies together along with mechanical parts and this wrestling colossus will be piloted by the ghost of Daniel Bryan to defeat Brock Lesnar.

It's gonna suck

He's a part timer. They pay him a ton of money to wrestle 3 or so times a year, and appear on maybe 15-20 Raws. He's never going back full time.

Makes -zero- sense to turn him face. As a heel, he can give credibility to people when they beat him.

He's a talented worker with an over catchphrase. He still has no charisma.

He's had an uphill battle with it. Every time he's given a mic and a chance it's fallen apart, aside from Kane's guiding hand with Hell No. When he has no mic, but it's in-ring only, he's managed to get over. Actually, he did pretty well with AJ being a heel. But face anything Bryan is Shitsville and a waste of everyone's time.

They're going to have to keep pushing Brock as a monster heel or he's going to get over as a huge face just because he butchered Cena. Him beating Cena and in the manner in which he did it is a huge face swing.

Almost everyone face in WWE is bad. They have their way of writing faces that always sucks. About the only good face right now is Ambrose, and that's because he's nothing like the others.
Cena, Sheamus, Reigns, Bryan, even Punk, they all had or have the same bullshit lamewad character as a face, like a template.

But mic skills are not the same as charisma. Undertaker is not really a great mic worker, but I wouldn't claim he isn't charismatic.

That's kind of the point. Monster heels have always been a Vince thing.

WWF traditionally has had monster heels that turned into cowards after facing Hogan/Warrior/Undertaker/Diesel/Austin/Rock/Cena. The only guy who's been booked as unstoppable for a while was Kane and even he couldn't beat Undertaker/Austin cleanly.

They've done nothing like Vader's run in WCW when he basically squashed Sting at first.

Connecting with the audience is literally charisma. He's just bad at talking.

I don't think he is connecting, I think he's entertaining. Any time he tries to connect, it goes to shit, as Vince puts so eloquently here:

I don't know what you think "connecting with the crowd" means, but a crowd so completely invested in a performer they turn an entire Royal Rumble and PPV heel because he wasn't in it is a connection to me.

I really don't care if you don't like the Cena "the crowd are great!" promos they give him and that he is bad at doing. A connection to the crowd is the one thing Bryan has more than anyone else in WWE.

I see. I was under the impression he was now full time.

I think Dean is someone who could beat Brock provided they make it an extreme rules match. They can have a story of him being the only guy insane enough to try and fight Lesnar.

Reigns is sadly the golden boy however and they won't push Dean like that.

Reigns to beat Lesnar with 17 spears.

Bryan has a different charisma; he connected with the live audience at shows well because he's a very typical underdog, he has an awesome catchphrase, and he puts on a show, as well as being someone liked by the hardcore fans (those who go to shows, for instance).

The thing with him is to basically don't let him cut a live promo off-script, or without someone to play against. I'm a giant Bryan homer (Seattle-ite), and I think he has a connection with the live crowds that few wrestlers have, but he is not a promo guy. His best promos tend to be playing off of someone else. Reminds me of Hall & Nash that way, they were ok by themselves, but they were awesome with each other.

I do think WWE has two good options (Bryan & Rock) as well as two possibly good options (Cesaro & Reigns) for who Lesnar eventually faces at WM.

So I just finished watching SS. Dayum at Stephanie's outfit. Like seriously, dayum. I demand gifs. Lesnar squashing Cena was nice. I kind of expected Cena to win it somehow right at the end like their match a couple years ago. This match pretty much went exactly the same as their previous match except cenawinslol didn't happen. A solid PPV overall even if the network advertising bullshit was in full effect. Enough interesting stuff to get me to watch Raw tomorrow.

How great would it be if it did end up being Reigns (it will) vs. Brock at Wrestlemania and EVERYONE thinking Reigns is going to win since he's the guy they've been feeding us and then BAM... Brock completely destroys him. Then the following night on Raw, Brock officially retires and the WWE title becomes vacant. Of course they wouldn't do this because it would bury everyone on the roster, and the title itself, but how great would that be.

I don't get the Reigns hate, but the Spear has to got to be the most tired finisher ever.

Drax the Destroyer vs the Beast, book it.

Drax does his entrance pew pew pew and gets gassed before the match, Bork carries and does 26 German suplexes to win.

Batista quits for good and Kurt Angle returns for Lesnar rivalry.

He gets the crowd behind him, and then he kills it when he gets on the mic. He can get almost all the way there, but he can't carry the full thing on his shoulders.

Total B+ Player.

If they want to make Reigns "the guy" next WM they have 6 months to have him win people over.

Its not a Batista situation of some guy coming in and taking a spot. They have time to build. To make us care about him.

Reigns needs to work with some better people between now and Mania. Get him away from Randy "rest hold" Orton.
