Those are indeed horrible vet rewards. How do you follow up Behemoth mount with a fucking painting of Hildebrand?
 
You know how crazy people go for minions man? I don't understand it myself, but some people will go loopy for that Gilgamesh minion.

I like the minions, but I'd rather it be in addition to a cool mount or SOMETHING. I get that creating mounts is a lot of work and I respect that, but something is wrong when the new rewards are not as good as the ones from months earlier.

I could believe it. From what I understand Maple is going to go hard on ninja.

Haha.. I am but I'm not motivated enough to do hunts all day for Alexandrite. I might change my tune once I can actually be a Ninja. I do have all my atma ready, various grades of battle materia stockpiled, and an UAT and sand in storage. I'm more or less ready.

Anyone see/try this BLM rotation out? It requires you to pay a little more attention, but I've done a couple of comparisons on dummies today (including an isolated dummy for true single-target numbers) and it was a DPS increase, but because BLM is so proc-heavy, I feel like you'd have to test it really hard to be sure.

Edit: Should probably include numbers. It was a ~22 increase on the single-target dummy in Western Thanalan, and a ~77 DPS increase on FC house dummies, which is a terrible single-target comparison because of all the Flare-ing.
 
GLD level 30 quest is the first time I am thinking, "WTF is even going on here?!" So many dudes running around and magic being blasted everywhere. I guess they are trying to break me in for whats to come and to learn how to not panic.

But I must say that I am impressed overall with the amount of effort put into the class/guild quests. The fact that they each have their own fleshed-out storylines and characters is a great incentive to try them all.
 
If nothing else, it's nice to finally know the order of dungeon unlocks.
The lvl 50 dungeons don't have a particular unlock order. You can actually gain access to them all at the same time, without needing to complete one or the other.

However, there is a minimum ilvl requirement for each dungeon (noted in the flowchart), denoting which dungeons are more difficult than others.

Also, in order to participate in High Level Dungeon Roulette or Expert Level Dungeon Roulette, the dungeons for each roulette have to be completed at least once.

I'm coming back to the game after a long break. The last I played was last December, I believe. I've logged in since re-subbing and find myself completely and utterly lost on what to do next. The last thing I did was finish my relic weapon and most of darklight. Are there any good up-to-date progression guides/resources out there that could help me get reacquainted with it all?

More or less. I'm sure some people still run high level roulette to get into dungeons, but if you're a dps (especially a ranged dps) those queue times may be... uhh... substantial.
