I thought I would really enjoy the customization of android and have 5 ROMs on constant rotation and whatever people do with it's openness but I haven't taken advantage of any of that (I honestly enjoy jailbreaking more for some reason). Android just feels really boring and bland compared to iOS for me and I appreciate the construction of apple products. I also have a Mac (heh) and the iOS8 + mac integration looks good so i'm planning on jumping back.

I'm paddling in the same boat. I'm looking forward to next week. I miss iOS as a daily driver.

i do like to customise my experience and tinker with settings - but on my desktop pc. i just want my mobile devices to be simple and pleasant to use, nothing comes close to iOS in that regard.

I shattered my iphone and have just been waiting to get a new one until the iphone 6 comes out.

So i have been using my gf's old Droid 4. This is the biggest PoS I have ever used in the history of phones. It is completely unusable at times. There are great androids I am sure. But this is not one of them. ugh

lol I did the exact same thing. But I didn't have a backup phone, so I've been without a phone.

Yup, I felt that way when I had to spend a while with an android phone as well.

Turns out I just don't give a shit about any of the tinkery stuff people hold up Android phones for. Yeah you could play NES roms on the thing, but fuck, would I? Hell no, it's a garbage experience either way. It's a phone.

No matter how much you skin and customize it, it will never compare to IOS to me in sheer usability and design.

I've been without a phone for nearly 3 months now. Lost a Sony Ericsson at a funfair so it should be nice to (hopefully) get a nice, new model iPhone!

The white area on the front looks plastic, but hopefully that's not the case. It's still all one glass piece right?

I really wish the aspect ratio was changed. It's too long for me. The 5 was ok, but this one could really benefit from being a little wider instead of just taller. Can't imagine how long the 5.5 will be

It's both wider and taller. It's the same 16:9 ratio as the iPhone 5/5C/5S and pretty much every other phone on the market.

Get outta here. They wouldn't kill the black iPhone off. It's the iPhoniest one.
I was talking about the backs. They've been gradually moving away from black to grey for a while now, the 5 was a dark grey, the 6 is light grey. Looks a lot worse for me.

So if there are final production iPhone 6s with iOS 8 in people's hands, does that imply that iOS 8 GM is already finalized? They wouldn't ship phones with beta software, would they?

That's a good question. As far as we know, iOS 8 is still in Developer Previews. GM would be a big deal and no one has reported it. The phone is going to have iOS 8 out of the box so there's no way it would ship until GM comes out. Right? Basically these are all just really good mockups, fakes and clones.

This next 3 days is going to take forever.

I guess, but I still think it looks oddly long.

No way is it the same ratio. The nexus 5 and the G3 have wider screens I'm pretty sure...I don't think any phone has the exact same ratio as iPhone

It's only a little wider to accommodate the increase height. Also, I'm mainly talking about the physical size of the screen

The Nexus 5 and G3 are both 16:9 screens, same as the iPhone 5 and same as the iPhone 6. Here's a screenshot directly from a Nexus 5 scaled proportionately onto one of the leaked iPhone 6 pics.

Pretty much how I feel. I've been going back and forth between iOS and Android devices for quite a while now. ROMs really aren't anything special. Android itself just feels bland and has some terrible design choices. All the stock apps are pretty awful looking and I just don't have a love for Google's app aesthetics (but L could change my view on it for sure). The fact that I have to replace the stock messaging app says it all. Hangouts is a joke as are most of their text apps. Hello SMS being the only good looking one but very limited in features. Their lockscreen notifications are also terrible. I don't really see any huge advantages from using my Android device over an iPhone aside from an actual file system which is easily remedied by iFile in iOS. This HTC One will probably be my last Android device for a while.

XDA is a clusterfuck and doesn't really offer as much appeal to me as the jailbreak community as well. iOS 8's Continuity and new iMessage/SMS features are exactly what I've been wanting as well and hope it runs better than crap like PushBullet. iOS does have its own annoyances like default apps (also fixed via jailbreak) and lack of a back button but its things I can live without. Emulation is a joke on both devices and can't stand playing classics with touch screen controls and have no intention of playing emulated games with a separate controller on a 4-6" screen. Thankfully iOS has a ton of games/apps to fill its void easily. I will most likely be trying the latest and greatest "L" device when the time comes but I'm more than excited for the release of the iPhone 6 so I can get off Android with a quickness.

The home/finger unlock button looked bad last time and continues to be. The ring does it no favours.

If Apple wasn't so hell bent on thinness, a better battery would be welcome. Not like iPhones are anything close to chunky. Unless there is some magical power source in the future just stop and put a better battery in there.

I was ready to say those leaks could still be fake until people started using the camera app and actually taking photos with it...

It's a thing of beauty isn't it? Everything is just automatic and everything works. Don't have to fiddle with settings. Plug the phone in and automatically syncs and backs up to itunes. Mail and messages work perfectly across both devices. And upgrading to a new iphone is literally the most painless thing ever. Literally everything, right down to the last setting, was restored when I got my 5s. I didn't even have to do anything.

I was actually still using Google for my mail until recently. Then I decided to just switch everything over to iCloud. I feel like there is no reason to use Google services anymore.

Android's customization options really are at the top. But after owning different Android devices I realized I really didn't give a shit. Wasn't something I spent a lot of time on. And other than that there wasn't anything else (other than price) compelling enough for me to switch. Even Windows Phone is a more interesting OS IMO if looking for 'something different' from iOS.

Pretty much how I feel. I do like stock android but I'm ready to jump back into iOS, which I still prefer. Although if my budget doesn't allow me to get the iPhone 6, I wouldn't mind staying on android and getting the new moto x or the next nexus.
I miss a lot of the apps I had that are iOS exclusive, the app ecosystem is still a notch above android imo and prefer the smoothness and responsiveness of ios which at this point runs without a hitch at all on newer devices, although stock KitKat is quite good. Also having your phone officially supported for 2+ years is awesome, my iPhone 4 was running great on iOS 7.1 4 years after purchase, only problem was that the battery had gone to shit.
Also upgrading to a new iPhone and restoring all of your stuff with a full icloud backup is so easy and painless, I wish google would have some sort of native official backup tool.

im still fine with every part of it except the back.
Although I really want to see if the black looks as bad as the white

It really is. Kind of sad too, would be nice to be surprised. But the watch is going to be. Since they haven't really started manufacturing them we will get that nice surprise.

I was probably going to go mid tier anyway so 64 is nice. I manage with the 32 but end up having to delete with the updates. The 64 should be pretty stress free for me.

My 16GB is terrible when it comes to constantly changing out and deleting apps.

The bigger screen is nice, but what's really going to change iPhone forever is iOS8 and the extensibility they're finally adding in.

Just the camera that's bothering me. But if apple reveals a case for it then I won't have no choice but to buy cause I'm a suckah
