I'm with you, 30fps depending the game can feel better to me than 60fps. People scoff at the cinematic statements made by more and more developers, but to be honest I actually agree many times with those statements.
Unless you have on a PC, the problem with current 60 FPS console games is that the trade-offs are very big.
The dev basically says that instead of pushing 60 FPS, they can increase the image quality (i.e. shadows, shading, other effects). They also believe that 30 FPS is what most studios will do this gen.
You know what? He's damn right! Sure, the whole 30 FPS looks better is a soothing marketing claim, but, in all honesty, this gen there's still too much visual trade-off in games, especially open-world to shoot for 60 FPS and good image quality.
The most recent example is Driveclub which runs at solid 30 FPS and people are astounded by graphic quality, while handling is actually considered as quite good. And this is the closed-circuit racing game, where "60 FPS is a must" for some people.
I prefer to play games at 60 FPS over 30 any time of the day, but current-gen hardware is not an Nvidia Titan-i7, Haswell-E packed monsters. They're basically mid-range PCs where to game at 60 FPS you have to put all settings to low. Well, I'd rather put them on high and take some FPS hit, when the game is all about creating a believable world. And be prepared that most devs will also ship games at 30 FPS, because Ubi is right and for most games this gen, it'll be a good call.
