If you get in real close, you can spot a minuscule stray speck of paint here or there, but I'm very pleased with him -- it's a hell of a detailed paint job for such a small figurine.

Theres a couple videos on how to open the boxes, take the aluminum out of the box, with little damage to box and use the boxes just like skylanders.

You can use Skylander and Disney Infinity figures without opening the boxes. You just place them on the portal and they work. Amiibos block the NFC signal with an aluminum sheet.

Normally for the figures I import, I keep the boxes. The artwork on the Amiibo boxes gets ripped when you open it though, so I just tossed the box into the garbage afterwards.

It's not false, it's just not what's going on right now as they are more popular than expected. They will be dropping figures as demand for them dies down. But if stores want them they aren't going to say no.
Ahhh, I seem to remember hearing about this actually. I'll probably end up just carefully taking the figures out to put them on my shelf, but it's cool that you can do that. Thanks for the info!

They have all the popular ones in stock too.

I got Villager. I was tempted to buy WFT since there were at least seven of them, but decided to stay strong... ignoring the fact that I just bought another.
On Friday, I'll hopefully be getting Cap Falcon, Pit, and Little Mac. My wife is interested in Zelda. Not sure if I want Diddy and if my little brother wants Luigi. I hope stores stock more this time 'round. Just to be sure though, I'll be there when the stores open.

It needs to be the KNEE. Falcon Punch (With flame bird a la Mario fireball) would suffice, I guess.
A heads up to those in South Korea - Japanese Amiibos and Gamecube adaptors are now available at Gukje Electronics center in Seoul. Picked up Samus, Marth, and an adaptor earlier today. Amiibos are ₩18,000 and adaptors are ₩35,000. They also had the Hori Gamecube controllers.

I want to buy Fox, Pikachu and Marth.
From wave 2 I want Pit, Captain Falcon, Zelda, Little Mac and Luigi.
It'd feel weird to have Luigi but not have Mario.
Then from wave 3 I want Ike, Shulk, Mega Man, King Dedede and Meta Knight (and maybe Lucario, from pre release renders he looks to have the same weird eyes as Villager sadly).
These things are addicting.
