Trailer is alright, and looks far better than the '00 ones.

No thanks.

Also who sold their soul to get Phillip Glass to score this?

Just looked it up. WTF, Philip Glass is scoring this! How?!

Such a weird choice. I mean Philip Glass is great, but it's the Fantastic Four.

For those wanting this to bomb so marvel can get back doom and galactus; consider how well marvel has treated their villains so far, then consider whether you want to see galactus and doom like that.

How is this argument any different than someone wanting only marvel to do their characters on film?

Here i can do it to,

For those wanting this film to succeed so that Fox can do more interesting takes on the characters and keep galactus and doom; consider how bad Fox has treated all the source material so far, then consider how much longer you want to see galactus and doom like that while infinity war happens....

Actually like the look of it. I just wonder if they can hold up the serious tone once you see stuff like mr. stretchy man.

it's overtly serious like most action movie teaser trailers, the question is will the whole movie be like this, or will it be properly balanced.

obviously if they're making a fantastic four movie where mr. fantastic appears out of place, then they've failed at their job.

I think if this ends up being successful, they're gonna try to merge it with the X-Men universe.

They definitely look similar enough.

That's already the plan. And DOFP conveniently cleans the slate for that to happen now too.

My guess is it'll be a crossover between this FF and the new Cyclops/Jean/Storm lineup in Apocalypse.

Sure is a teaser. I got heavy science fiction influence and an emphasize on exploration, not so much comic book action. Not a poor fit for Fantastic Four. Sorry, Fant4stic. Can't exactly gauge tone from trailers these days; would be a shame to miss a lighthearted family dynamic. X-Men DoFP's teasers were heavy on the drama, left out the comedic beats from film.

This. It being a good and interesting movie > good "adaptation", for me.

exactly, sorry ff comic fans (though I'm assuming there aren't that many diehard FF fans given it's recent sales), but no adaption FF (cartoons and movies) have been enjoyable so far (well the magneto wooden gun thing was funny). I'd prefer a great movie over a faithful adaptation.

there really hasn't been a faithful FF adaptation before. but if fox keeps up their current streak with the property, we'll get neither. :p

Haha, they just couldn't help putting in a giant pillar of lightning shooting into the sky could they?

Movie looks alright, but I'm not loving the guy playing Mr. Fantastic yet.

Is Fox releasing this film to retroactively make the 2005 Fantastic Four look like a work of art? I won't go as far as to say they're also trying to make the 1994 one look great in comparison, but there's still time...

The world doesn't need a self-serious Fantastic Four. Have some fun with it! The Mole Man needs the work (the moles are always striking) and Impossible Man has been sitting by the phone for decades waiting for the call! Can Marvel sue Fox for being grumpy with its properties?

Fanty's prettier.

If true, they could always go about him having to deal with his transformation becoming more and more permanent, making it harder to stay human.

And it gets to the point where the next transformation could make it permanent, so he decides to quit while he's ahead, but then an emergency comes up and he needs to use his powers one more time to save his friends. I feel like i've seen this before, must be a known trope.

Trailer looks surprisingly solid after all the doom and gloom in the last year, i'm interested in seeing more.

Anyone commented on this?

get the two storms together in a relationship. cause god knows the world still aint ready for a big budget interracial romance.

I'm sure the movie will be disappointing, I'm sure it will not be a very faithful adaptation, but the teaser seemed well enough on its own. Some nice shots and I really like the teaser music.
Maybe it'll actually be an interesting and good take on the property? Surely it won't be worse than the first two movies, right?

Im really liking the look of it, im not too worried about the dialog on the first half seeing how well it was in Chronicle, the tone gives me hope that the second half isnt the usual BIG ACTION SET PIECE that this movies usually turn into.

Oh no! My greatest fear
seemingly
confirmed.
That it looks like a decent movie that's willing to take huge risks or changes with its source material.
But it doesn't look my type of film or more importantly the fantastic four film I wanted. So if people tell it has more fantastical superhero flair but right now not interested.

That was such a standard trailer. Looked like there was about five Hollywood filters applied to suck out all the joy, life and colour out of it. Because I mean this is only Kirby and Lee's Fantastic Four. Why would you want any of those things in it. Let's rather make it about crying and sacrifice and consequence.

At least the trailer made me reflect on Guardians again and how great it was, and how not like this trailer it was.

The trailer was actually decent, already eons ahead of the ones before. I like Michael B. Jordan, he was good in Space Jam.

lol yep hopefully the rest of the movie is not as dour as the teaser suggests. it's definitely in line with what Hollywood expects people will flock to as far as teaser trailers go, all the other marvel movies are like this until you get to trailer #2 or so.

it's solid imagery tho just wish they weren't afraid of showing some visual variety in teasers.

It's not Kirby and Lee's Fantastic Four. Kinberg and Frank have both said it's based more around Ultimate Fantastic Four.

And the GotG trailer was great now? Weren't there posts here talking about how terrible/underwhelming/"mehhhhh" they were?
