Keep God of War linear, but go completely nuts with it.

Not just jumping to the Egyptian or Norse pantheon -- COMBINE them. Go crazy. Bring in death and angels, Thor and the Sphinx, jumping through time, through locations, everything.

Go. Crazy. What made the series great was how it just kept upping the ante and being ridiculous fun. The next step shouldn't just be a sideways hop to a new character and/or setting; It should be a complete leap into everything at the same time. I want to see the skies open and have Jörmungandr battle Anubis and Osiris while you ride on the back of the Sphinx.

GOWrgasm!

just watched the gamersyde 60 fps footage and it looked glorious. hopefully youtube implements 60 fps sooner so most peeps will be able to see the trailer how it is meant to be seen.

According to Naughty Dog's Eric Monacelli, the music in the trailer was made by Jóhann Jóhannsson, not Gred Edmonson

He says it in the comment section.

Well, from the rumours they didn't fail, they just made a game similar to another game which got a lot of hype and had to make it into something else which in the end didn't work out.
Not the rumors, the facts said SSM cancelled the new IP they were working on during several years.
They are working in another big project since a few months ago that is likely to be another GOW.

Has anyone made mention how there is apprently 0% aliasing in the released teaser?

Even The Order, which is a forward rendered game with 4XMSAA and some sort of PPAA ontrop of a temporal solution, has visible aliasing...

That sends alarm bells in my head. While I will not doubt the quality of the model presented, I do question the image quality in terms of aliasing. Especially at 60fps.

Maybe they use the same custom SMAA T2x solution that InFamous SS uses? That game is remarkably clean.

I don't know man, i've played it for the first time a couple of months ago and it looks great as long as you're not moving the camera, but there's a good amount of jaggies to be seen when you start slowly panning the camera around. Not a big deal in the grand scheme, but i was surprised after all the praise for how clean it looks. Could just be a case of too great expectations on my end though.

Or it was a bullshot trailer. The gameplay footage shows more aliasing and Infamous SS with SMAA T2x isn't that free of aliasing.

A bump for that?

EDIT-

Haha i was right-

Well one thing for sure, Naughty Dog has set themselves up to prove that the gameplay will equal the unbelievable quality of that trailer. They're either sweating bullets right now or laughing. I think they can do it.

I fear if they can't......It's going to be worse than the Watchdogs downgrade drama.

That's just how temporal AA works. Even in UE4 (which has an implementation superior to SMAAT2x) moving around the camera makes sub-pixel aliasing easily visible (and distracting).

You'll only ever get pristine IQ in all scenarios by sampling more than once per pixel, and that's expensive.

Except its nowhere near as bad as the Watchdogs drama. Where everybody was quick to shit on Ubisoft for being lied to, I see most people giving Naughty Dogs a pass for this. Some people are poking fun, but I don't see anybody getting the pitchforks out.

it seems many members are hardcore ND fans in here. If Ubisoft pulled this shit, we would have seen tons of piles of shit on them.

You should tell that to some people regarding Drive Club. They are somehow under the impression that the games TAA creates more shimmering and worse aliasing when sitting still than while moving.

I can imagine the betrayalaton threads just now.

if it was anyone other than ND the backlash would be worse, I'd imagine. the worst from this is level headed posters such as myself being disappointed that Naughty Dog would talk a big game and then under-deliver but understanding that a 30fps Uncharted game isn't really out of the ordinary.

but man, I wish they had backed up their claim because a ND game exclusively running on a PS4 at 60fps would just be.....I can't even think of a word to describe it.

Cutting in half the framerate is the bigger downgrade you can do. Most of the downgradeton rages were produced by smaller cuts.

I usually feel like Uncharted is a generally overrated series (opinions!), but there's no denying the production values ND can eek out of the systems they work on. I wasn't sure if I was really going to care about this game, but at the very least I'm interested now.

What you're looking for is called the PC experience.

Are you saying you think people should get pitchforks out?

'In-engine, in-game, in realtime on a single PS4 at 1080p60' so what happened?

The rest of the game happened. One in-game vertical slice should never be indicative of overall performance or appearance, but everyone thought it would be because it's Naughty Dog.

The cinematic corridor ended and the gameplay started. With absolute camera control they can choose what needs to be rendered and what doesn't much more precisely.

I'd imagine some things were baked. Like environmental effects, wind, lighting possible. Even if they weren't the real game has to calculate a bunch of onscreen AI and has to deal with a fully rotational camera as opposed to a fixed and guided one.
