I am 100% in favor of other people leveling alts to drag me through crap.

But the thought of going through the mess that is the main scenario again and subjecting another warrior of light to becoming Minfilia's personal fix-it bitch is just ugh.

Like I'm pretty sure I'd get to Chrysalis and then stop forever and all time because
I DON'T WANT MINFILIA BACK
.

2.1-2.5 story is the worst part specifically because EXDR is now behind it.
Poor HW newcomers.

Also if you have really good drop luck at the start, don't come to the OT and post about it or somebody will curse you to a week of no-drops.

(really I'd say the only strategic thing you can do is try really hard to preform DD/AV sac pull parties; those are the two worst to have to run forever in DF.)

In a few more expansions in the warrior of light personal house inn room:

Did someone curse me on WoD? Can whoever it is release the curse please. It's been a week of constant WoD, it's not fun anymore.

Please send help ; ;

I've noticed a number of people seeking static parties for FCoB and beyond and I have recently started considering restarting my own static on Durandal.

I understand Durandal being a Japanese server can make some people uncomfortable due to the many things we do differently - but I've had the pleasure of playing with some Gaffers before and it has been enjoyable, so why not start here!

A number of JGAF on Durandal are active but not to the point of being able to stick with a schedule for content. If I had enough interest I would like to start a weekly run group starting at turn 1 (10) through to the end. Experience isn't necessary but I'd like to ask interested people to be flexible and appropriately geared. Schedule would be weekends and running from night time US side.

We'll need 2 healers, 4 dps and another tank. Anyone interested shoot me a PM.

(I'm away from Nagoya for the weekend so replies will be delayed)

Why make an alt? Just pick up another weapon?

Lockouts/gearing up speed. Double-coil, double WoD drops, and, when new tomes are released, being able to cap on two characters separately lets you gear up two different jobs right at the start.

Also people are crazy.

It was about the time that I was running around the desert with a gallon of Cactus Piss that I started wondering what I'm doing with my life.

That's true for most endgame fights, auto-wipe mechanics can't be outgeared. But you can make the dps checks pointless, the HP checks pointless, and so on and so forth. It is massively easier in the gear you have now, and no where near the original challenge it once was. You are deluding yourself if you think otherwise, and I'm not sure why. I'm not saying it's faceroll easy, just that it's not the accomplishment it was when first released. The fact you can clear them so quickly now in a few lockouts is a testament to that.

There are no DPS checks in T8 Savage. You just get tower set after tower set, the 5th one onward comes with 2 allagan fields. There may be a hard enrage timer but it was nothing big at i110 either. The only thing i130 allows us to do is potentially skip a later tower set or two.

If it's so easy to be called not an accomplishment, then clear it. Anything worthy of not being called an accomplishment you should be able to clear within a week or two.

You guys sure talk a big game but prove it ;)

It doesn't need to be a hard dps check for extra dps to make things easier. You push phases faster, you kill adds faster, everything is easier. The extra hp/defense means healing is massively simplified. Many of the groups who spent weeks on savage had people in i90 vit accessories. Again, the fact people can push through and clear these turns so fast now is proof enough things are easier. The only one trying to talk big is you, with all these posts about savage as if it matters anymore, that content is ancient at this point. You sound like a guy rolling into T9 with echo and thinking you are pro status now. Yeah, you still need to know the fight(t9 too), and wiping is easy, but the experience is massively different and simpler with all the extra damage you can both do and take. How do you even dispute that?

And also just to comment on the "guys" part, I don't speak for my group, the main reason we aren't even doing savage is because of me and a few others who have very little interest in it. It's not because we were scared off by the difficulty, it's just a lack of interest since we understand it's not really important content anymore. Tons of other groups are the same way, unless you think all those other groups on the server who were clearing actual relevant stuff before you just gave up at the savage wall. It was never that, please get over yourself.

i still think you're a bro for saving a hunt mob for me once

We cleared Turn 13 in 2014.

T8 Savage has no phases to push, you get same tower order and mechanics in same order, no matter how fast or slow you do it, just have the potential to skip last tower set. Almost all of the rest of the mechanics are all auto-wipe (which is unlike FCoB or SCoB after nerfs and with Echo).

I 100% disagree the experience is massively different. Some aspects are easier, like some of the healing on tanks, and getting dreadnoughts down a bit faster, but the core of the fight is the same due to the auto-wipe mechanics.

We cleared Turn 13 in 2014.

And now we're ahead of you in progression ;) Since you're too afraid to do Savage Coil, we'll see you in Alexander Hard Mode ;)

Oh so you guys cleared Savage Turn 6 like we did?

Wouldn't the obvious solution be to just dig up 2.3-era gear and run it that way if it's not so different? No Zetas, no i130, etc. it'd either be a minor difficulty increase for maximal bragging rights, or prove out that overgearing does slightly defang savage.

Welp, friends, I have been messing the hell up. I just found out you get stat points to spend as you level up. Guess I have some spending to do when I get home. My level 35 summoner probably is pretty mad at me right now!

Bennu must be code for eat the white mage. That add phase has a ton of aoe healing...more than I thought but with more practice, it should be manageable. I sadly caused a good deal of wipes...X(
