I think the boxart is out.

it would be hilarious if he actually made a mock-up of the actual box

Their claims are invalid because EA. Hell I wouldn't believe them even if it weren't EA behind this. I guess I just especially don't believe them then.

You weren't around back then, I take it?

Watch Dogs was massively downgraded by the time it was released. Nothing compared to the E3 2013 demo that was showcased.

Yup, been around for a while.

Now, I'm wondering where the downgrade footage lies. Especially since we haven't seen any gameplay footage TO downgrade...

Watch_Dogs was revealed I think...two years before release? Battlefront is only a few months difference from gameplay reveal to retail. Whatever DICE shows will be closer to the retail code.

I wonder if they will make the speeders automatically avoid the trees, and perhaps your character can choose to duck to go under low hanging branches or obstacles.

If not, and you could actually collide with any object, that would be pretty intense..

I'm just massively cynical right now. Don't get me wrong, I'm looking forward to the game as much as the next guy. But I remain cautiously excited.

i would say theyd make them avoid objects automatically unless you go head on into something. it would seem a bit ridiculous to have people really focus on driving when the gameplay purpose is to shoot at the opposing team.

Have a team mate on the speeder with you, firing at an enemy on another speeder... while also zooming in and out (and under) trees...

It will have a lot of content, but most of it will be multiplayer I bet. I may be wrong, but Battlefront started as multiplayer only and only in the sequel did they add a single player campaign.

There were actually two campaigns in the first Battlefront; one for the original trilogy and one for the prequels. Mind you they weren't exactly story driven missions, mostly just skirmishes with bots. I never played the first Battlefront online, and most of my friends didn't either.

I think people are forgetting that Battlefront is way more arcade than Battlefield, so no, Battlefront was not always like a re skinned Battlefield.

And people are also missing points with the visuals: no doubts it will improve on Battlefield and look good, but the issue is that the screenshot is already nowhere near the CGI look of the first in engine footage.

Whoevers picked up the marketing deal is going to completely dominate this holiday season. Its inclined to think its Ms, since EA has been getting all cozy with them since the start of this gen

I'd be shocked if Sony didn't have the marketing rights for this one. Could be their big game for the holiday now that Uncharted is pushed.

Exactly and why else would Greenberg go with the pre-emptive first on XB1 tweet. We can expect a lot of Battlefront perfume ads this fall.

I don't like jumping to conclusions because nothing is really official yet. But it's clear Playstation is trying to associate itself with Star Wars. For official Playstation twitter handles and Instagram accounts to be tweeting about the celebration and picture of Star Wars kinda screams partnership to me.

What's up with comparing BF to an entirely different game, that was cross-gen, made by an entirely different studio, on entirely different technology?

Well, fake or treated promotional screenshots is not something exclusive to Watch_Dogs, I just used it as an example because was the worst case we have seen this gen. And the fact that its a cross-gen does not justify, since the game is ugly as fuck even compared to many other cross-gen games.

Like the 1st post on this page said, it seems the screenshot received some treatment, like a downsampling and enhanced light effects. I would not be surprised at all... bullshots is no news anymore.

It doesnt mean that I don't want to believe they're legit screens though, cause I would love it tp be legit! And honestly, as long as the game is trully fun to play (as Battlefront 2 seems to have been), then I could not care less if that actually receives some downgrade.

I don't quite understand the hype. DICE has proven again and again that everything they do is horribly broken at first. BF3 was broken, BF4 was broken and I'm not sure why would anyone expect any different from this.

That goes doubly if they try to shoehorn a singleplayer.

We have heard nothing of third person or special characters.

The question is: WHERE does the game look like that?

On PC only? On consoles too?

I have little doubt it will look like that on PC, but Ps4 and the Bone too? There I remain ducious.

Dice has always showcased the PC version of their games, as far as I know. And a shot like this would require supersampling to achieve, which also can only be done on PC.

So.... the answer to that question is most definitely "PC."

I think this is gross hyperbole. Maxed out PC version comes pretty damn close to it's E3 showcase.
Well, you said it yourself: "Maxed out PC" :)

Although, IIRC, people were able to find that several graphical settings were disabled in the PC version, some of which were present in the E3 demo.

At any rate, I'm keeping my fingers crossed and yes, this isn't Ubisoft. But I'm still cautious about it.

Well guys. I have to head off to sleep. Tomorrow should be fun. It kinda sucks because I'll be right at work when all the good stuff goes down but hopefully shortly afterwards i'll be able to see the trailer and read some reactions.

Hopefully we get a lot of info on product details. Hopefully a CE announcement as well? Not holding my breath but i'll be running over to GameStop to preorder right after work.

We already see

U4

The Order

The Witcher 3

And we can have an idea of what the current generation is able to do

And to me, that is not possible.

Will love to be wrong anyway

I'm in the same boat. I'll be in the middle of class when it goes down so hopefully i can sneak the stream on my monitor while my professor in lecturing.
