Splatoon |OT| Squidstyler

I thought I understood but I keep getting low P during my online matches this last hour. I just have to cover a lot of ground with my ink that hasn't already been covered?

Don't die?

What gets people high P?

I'm confused. What's happening here?

Is this legit?

NA tumblr just posted it
One of our scientists has made a rather stunning discovery! From early reports, it appears to be a means of adding motion control to the controller of the player playing on the TV screen in Battle Dojo. On the controller selection screen for Battle Dojo, press and hold down on the +Control Pad, press and hold B, and then press ZR and ZL.

It seems a Wii Remote Plus is necessary to perform this incredible feat. This technique also appears to be possible when using a Classic Controller or Classic Controller Pro! When using a Wii U Pro Controller, first press ZL and ZR to select that as your controller, and then press the 2 Button on the Wii Remote Plus to activate it.

"A squid research lab researcher has discovered an underhanded trick. It seems that in the Battle Dojo you can add gyro to the controller that plays on the TV.

To do this, on the selection screen press both down on the D-Pad and the B-Button, and then ZR + ZL."

"A Wiimote+ is necessary for this trick.

Naturally, the classic controllers have no problem with this trick.

For a Pro controller you need to use the Wiimote that has the 2 indicator"

Not sure on the very last sentence but I'm sure it's just saying that it doesn't have a remote attached so you need to use a different wiimote.

EDIT: God fucking damn it NoA lol

Found out a good tactic for ending the amtch. If you are using a loadout that has an inkstrike wait until the last 3-5 seconds then inkstrike a large area. The clock waits for ALL abilities to go off to end the match so you can gain some ground back that they have no way of saving.

You can't aim up and down with the right stick. It's super jarring for me and no amount of playing with it is getting me used to it.

I get the feeling that the only reason they let you use the stick at all in gyro controls is to manage your camera whenever you are making turns. But sure, I guess they could have included the option. In any shooter you don't really spend that much time looking up or down, and if you do you're severely limiting your FOV.

Looking up and down with only the gyro seems very effective to me. The drawback of gyro is that you have to worry about 360 degrees left and right, which means you need to re-calibrate your camera often in some sticky situations. Which this issue would be solved if the game was playable on gamepad screen and you had a swivel chair.

It grows as you cover ground. Grows faster when you cover enemy paint. Not sure about what else modifies it. You get an extra 300p when you're on the winners' side.

So when I heard this had 2 modes, I thought it would be like 2 unique multiplayer modes and not just "turf war + turf war with a friend"

I really, really like this game. The matchmaking has been flawless for me, and the "classic" gamepad game while you wait is dumb fun.

That said, I don't understand why there isn't the option to play with dual-sticks, but also have motion on the tablet still contribute to aiming. Or why you can't change any of the control options in-game.

You can switch to dual analog and set sensitivity in the settings

So literally after playing about 2 hours of single player, I'm now borderline competent at handling my character and scored my two biggest wins yet. One was as the sole Splattershot Jr on a team of Rollers on Saltspray (such a fucking curb stomp once I started picking off troublesome types) and another that I felt pretty proud of on Arowana Mall where I checked the map and pretty much carried the team when the other side sent in sleeper agents to take our respawn area.

I'm convinced that if you want to RTSD, you pretty much can't have a better sub weapon than the Bubbler. I hope there are a lot of ______/Bubbler/Inkzooka or _______/Bubbler/Kraken combos in the future.

Edit: On a totally random note, I'm convinced the arcade machine in the main plaza is playing a slightly off note version of a Sanctuary Fortress/Ing Hive theme from Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. It's literally the same type of bleepy-bloopy composition.

DirtyLarry what's your nnid?

If you're on now you should join us.

I've been looking forward to the speedruns for a long time.
RobotRenegade is my NNID.
About to call it a night but would love to have people to play with no doubt. If you can send me a PM of who I should add from here or point me towards a list and I will do that tomorrow. I think that's how NNID's work right? Each person has to add the other? Has been ages since I added anyone on the WiiU so excuse my ignorance on how it is done.

Question to those who got far in the Single Player

Is Bluefin Depot a decent 'open' octoling stage? Since the others Octoling stages are all either existing MP maps or confirmed to be coming, it could give a decent idea to another one

I played maybe about 3 hours of splatoon singleplayer, only reason I stopped being my gamepad battery was dying, but I was having a blast, also, it seems everyone has a splatoon miiverse post for their character, I dont remember it giving me the option to do this, unless im suppose to go to the lobby, I just went straight to singleplayer because of the story and to get some practice in so I wont look like a scrub.
