Splatoon |OT| Squidstyler

Special shoutout to this terrible post from the no voice chat thread; it's become a running gag in my household.

uncoordinated children
Have you played Garden Warfare? He's not kidding. Straight-up children all over that game. Hard to manage when it's primarily a strategy game. This seems to have enough hardcore players to balance out the experience, but when someone on your team gets under 400 do you think "they're just new"?

I advice you to do the single player, it really helped me to get used to the controls.

Same, one of the moment you just want to yell at your teamates then you realze you can just facepalm >.>

Best Miiverse art yet.

What do the lines from players to me in an online match mean?

Is it echolocation?

Is it showing me where my enemies are BC of a tram mates echo?

Amiibo 3-pack came today, they look great. Did a couple of the Girl challenges but I'm going to finish single player first (nearly halfway through it).

Got up to Level 10. Circled back to the Splattershot Jr. and had some success. Definitely still a top-tier weapon set. I can confirm I like all 5 starter maps.

Kinda surprised at how often everything works out when I rush middle at the start and take it. I'm sure there's going to be a "pro tier" way to do it but most of the maps have a pretty natural path. People end up inking everything in behind me. Seems lots of folks playing have a decent grasp of the tactics and what areas are important on the maps

Dear teamates, PUSH!
I just killed 3 guys!!
Don't stand over there doing nothing!

Hit up on the gamepad's D-Pad... NOA localized it as "C'mon" but apparently it's more like "Follow Me" in the European version/every other language..

Wow, Psyrgery ES is good at this game.

Started out pretty rough because I was trying out the .51 Gal Deco or whatever, but by the end, I was getting in the groove of it more. I still play the game too aggressively, though.

Stalking bubblers in the ink is super fun.

Just discovered that the squid sisters are not sisters in the spanish version. One of the album pages in the singleplayer says that they are cousins.
Can anyone confirm if in that page in the english version they are called cousins or sisters.
European versions are translated directly from the japanese one, so its possible that there are cousins also there (and in other eutopean countries).
What a strange change of lore if thats the case.

I'm wondering what maps from SP will come to multi or if they're all going to be totally new. I think Biodome and that Brickworks River map will probably transfer over, right?

Biodome and Brickworks are already confirmed as multi maps.
You can see that the ones that are holding out are the more open ended ones (big laberynth square or circles) that will probably take different startegies than the ones we are playing right now.

What's everyone's favorite weapon so far?

Dont know how is called in english, its splatter type that has like a barrel and little diamonds all over the weapon, something 2000 DX. Ive become the destroyer of worlds with that one.
That and rollers.

I was feeling pretty confident in my charger abilities until I got sent to the school of hard knocks playing with Gaffers yesterday.
curse you, Sendou
. Tried some other weapons, but I still think charger is the most satisfying to use. I really like the load out for the kelp sniper

sorry, i forgot that you have to be in your 30s to enjoy easy-to-play cartoon games

Still waiting to be able to play my copy, but I'm excited. I'm glad people are having fun with the game. I hope that Nintendo puts out a press release on Monday talking about sales (like they did with MK8). It would be nice to know that this game is doing well enough that they're talking about it.

The children I know are better at multiplayer games than me

I feel like they'll talk about the game's success during their E3 direct where they'll also talk about some more upcoming updates to the game. Assuming this game sold well of course which I think it did.

It bugs me in Turf War when players just make beelines to the center of the map right at the beginning. I realize it is important to hold off the opposing team in big middle areas, but I'm always the guy establishing our territory for the first 30 seconds of the match. lol This is especially bad in the skatepark and mall, but at least I get an easy power up every time!

There are various things that do this.

Echolocater, as a special, is the most powerful version. It targets the entire enemy team. Point Sensor is a subweapon grenade version that does the same thing to any enemy that is in it's radius. Haunt gives this effect to any player that kills you.

Cold Blooded ends all 3 within about 3 seconds or so. It's immensely useful if you rely on stealth.

What? The center is the most important area. You can cover your own base later when you're losing to gain special.

This is especially important in saltspray rig, hence why it's one of the charger's strongest stages.

You're ahead of the game.

So how hard is it to unlock items like clothing?
Not hard at all. I've bought all clothing and weapons and have 10k left over, and I don't feel I've gone very hard on multiplayer (level 11).

I don't know what you're on about. It's pretty simple to understand that the way an adult would want to play a team-based strategic base-defense game is different from the way a child would. Being unable to set your age group in Garden Warfare really hurt the experience if you didn't specifically set up games with your friends, so he was worried that it would happen in this game, too. It's a completely reasonable concern. Nobody was saying children shouldn't be allowed to play it or that all children would be bad at it.

That's what the cat says anyway but it would be interesting to hear some hard numbers.

Hit level 4 or 5 and you will be to access all shops.
Then items can be bought per level (its written on it what level you can buy it)

p.s : don't forget to talk to the cat, it gives good advices.

I'm usually the third person into the center which is fine with me. The first two are always the main pushers. There is always one other person right behind me covering over anything I miss because I'm also just speed inking the area.

Really though, it's more points for you once the game is over if you're the person behind everyone else.

You need a combination of both. If no one is there to contest the other team when they get to the center, they'll have an easy time pushing into your half of the map.

coming back in

I'm fucking addicted man

ps I love how the opening screen of the inkling's room has a top-down map of the room on the gamepad with little ink splotches. it's the little things.

It really depends on the map I guess. For the rig I usually make a beeline to the top area, since there really isn't many open spaces to cover. At the skatepark though, if I'm not establishing the base then I go to the top of the tower to grab the center.

Agreed, team synergy is incredibly important in this game.
