Seek to reduce latency time compared to PS3 version. Ports PS3 version...
That's really disappointing, now you can almost guarantee that they can't fix the latency issue. To me, that was the biggest thing promised about this port. Even though I personally can't really tell the difference, it's now basically useless for the tournament scene as that is (rightfully) their biggest concern.
I'm sure it came down to things like button prompts, PSN hooks, trophy support all being ready in the PS3 version so they could theoretically save time by starting with that as a a base. Obviously, they should have started with Windows, 360 or even the arcade version as a base, they all have much more in common with PS4 than the PS3 does with it's bastard processor. You get a much cleaner port with much less effort, then you add that network stuff in like any other game. Developer incompetence, or too restricting a deadline, or lack of communication with the community or all of the above.
Fix the aesthetics, fix the gui speed, fix the moves discrepancies, fix the FUCKING AUDIO, and the port will be fine for anyone outside of diehards. Nothing impossible, shouldn't be hard. I'd be willing to bet they've been working on some of this GUI and audio shit since before the game was even published. Now they have the community of unpaid laborers to point out how the moves are behaving wrong and hopefully they can trace several glitches back to a common error and it isn't as pervasive as it seems.
Also, my expensive fucking TE2 doesn't have a Touch Pad button so stop making me hold it when I wanna reserve a replay save!
It's still worth $25 to anyone who wants to play SF4 on PS4 casually with friends. A lot of content, a lot of fun.
I am not a defense force for any of the companies involved, just a lifelong SF fan. That has always been my bias.
