Splatoon |OT| Squidstyler

It's part of the reason that the golden aerospray is so spectacular for turf war, in my opinion. You can cover a ton of space with the main gun and build up a special quickly then unleash that deep in the enemies base or at a strategic point controlled by the enemy (like the tower in the skatepark stage).
Exactly. Seems like more people are catching on because I'm seeing a lot of Aero RG's.

why not both?

Why do people Inkstrike the enemy base? Its like... the biggest waste of a special (unless the timer is at 2). Those who respawn are just going to paint it over in a few seconds. Better to use it to gain ground that you can actually hold instead of a tiny inconvenience for the opponent.
Because it is usually painted over more quickly due to the amount of enemies on (or near) the frontline. Painting near spawn (not ON spawn - that's a waste since there's a shield there) serves as a distraction for respawning enemies as well, giving your team a little more time to move up against the handicapped team.
Or just tuck it somewhere that takes a little time to get to - trust me, those stealth Inkstrikes do wonders to the percentage in the end.

what I'm saying is that I'll usually use my inkstrike in a predominantly enemy-ink filled territory but I'll also try and put it right behind where the enemy ink is currently being laid down. that way, hopefully, I get the coverage and splats.

Any good gameplay videos of people doing well? I need to find a way to get more than 700p without the bonus. Maybe watching others will help.

Haha, I don't usually "yeah" things on Miiverse, but I just had to for this one. Something about it tickles me, I think the drawing is just the right amount of shitty that it's hilarious.

Ah, well if you're confident you'll get the splats then by all means! Personally I find it to be easy to avoid, but maybe I'm just not placing them well enough in those situations.

Looks like mostly random, or the grouping is very wide

Even the normal matches have at least some level of matchmaking it seems like. In a couple of months you should still be matched up with similar levels to you, which means you'll play against people just starting out too, theoretically. Although it does get messed up when people have friends joining that are dramatically higher level, which throws off the balance of levels in the whole group.

In my opinion, the game is so addicting/great already that I'd recommend playing it now, but it is up to you.

This games much more new player friendly than any other shooter, purely because you get points for ground coverage and not kills, you can be a newbie with a load of lvl 20's and still be effective and have a blast.
Thanks guys for the info. I'm gonna try to get it soon but it's gonna be a tough month financially so trying to give myself the out to wait, lol.

Why? Unless they add a bunch of weapons I don't see the point

I just think it would be more interesting if people were of different level. Eventually, almost anyone will be level 20 so the level won't matter. Also, there are more weapons, modes, stages etc on the way, so they could give stuff to people of higher level.

It would be awesome if it let you change your equipment in the lobby. I wanted to try out the roller but it's not my thing and want to switch back but I have to go back to the plaza. :/

So I finally reached level 20, bought all the weapons and completed single player (with all scrolls collected.) Just when I think there isn't too much more to do, boom new content everywhere. Looking forward to jumping back in tonight (or tomorrow morning) and trying out all the new goodness this great game has to offer. I can't believe just how much time I've put into a game I had little anticipation for until a week before it launched. I'm really hoping it does well because I want more Splatoon in the future.

I just recently got MKX and Bloodborne last week but have been putting it off this weekend. Splatoon took all my playtime, really having a blast and hope Nintendo continue with more contents. Anyone get Nickelodeon vibes? Reminds me of the show Guts and Wild N Crazy Kids. Can't wait to go home and play some more after work :D
