Splatoon |OT| Squidstyler

It kind of sucks that all of the best looking clothes are 1-2 stars. Not a fan of the robo-suits/samurai gear/goggles/helmets.

Starting to wish I'd cleared out the store of 1-2 star equipment in the first two days of playing. Does anyone know if the stores still stock low-star clothes when you hit L20, or will I have to request them from Spike?

I have an addictive personality.

There was one Amiibo three pack available at Toys R Us when my girlfriend and I were looking for a birthday gift for my niece.

I had to grab it simply on the principle that these are a hot, rare commodity that are vanishing quickly.

Here's the thing... I could keep them simply for the in game bonuses, but I'm scared I'll get into the hype.

Or, I could always keep them sealed and sell them, but at the expense of in game bonuses.

Any advice anyone?

Use em and keep em.

Yes, but they HAVE TO cover up your progress. You deprive them of productive inking time on the front lines by covering up the mess you made in their base.

Yes, but it takes them significantly less time to cover up your ink than it does for you to get in there in the first place. That's a net loss for your team.

Look up what you can get with the amiibo and determin if it's worth unboxing.

If you're really afraid, just open them and unlock the equipment, then sell the amiibos immediately after. You'll get all of the bonus content and still likely manage to get back what you paid for them. Win/win!

Huh, unless you're talking about different weapon types, why does it take less time for them to cover up ink. It's not like you jump into the middle of their spawn point.

Funny, everytime i'm paired with a group of lone wolfs and i'm left to cover the base...i'm always first place on the team (of a LOSING team mind you). It's almost like the goal of the game is to cover as much ink as possible, NOT get up in the enemy's face, spray a small part, die, than repeat.

My focus is NEVER on killing the enemy. I'm awful at it. My focus is covering as much turf that has the enemy's color as possible. I am the top of my team scoreboard every single time, usually by a few hundred points, and we win most of the time.

Yes, choke points can be important. Pushing forward is a really effective mind game, though, and it lets you get behind the enemy, which can be a lot more useful than dinking around in a pointless battle of attrition in the middle the whole time.

When I do "booyah", do europeans see "nice" on their screen? In other words, does jt always show the local text instead of what I see? I assume so.
Haven't seen the text prompts being used all that much so I can't answer with certainty, but I'd assume so too.

Us Europeans need to rally up and organize a "Booyah!" petition.

Play the game be happy its alot of fun why avoid the hype of something fun? That's just strange.

My 5 year old has been kicking ass today in multiplayer rocking a roller painting everything he can. He's level 6. He loves the team concept, and has been gleefully celebrating when his team wins a match.

It's amazing how accessible this game is. He doesn't play like I do, or how my oldest does, but the game still makes him feel like he's contributing to a team victory by snatching up turf and rolling over dudes.

The mall is a perfect example, yeah, because you literally can't progress past the hill if a good charger is there. Even the more open maps though, like skatepark, can still have the middle held down pretty well.
Anytime I've played at the mall I can easily charge to the other side from one of the sniping points and often times not get caught for a while if ever however I'd say there's a need for defense as well as offense. The problem is when you're on offense and your entire team decides to super leap to you and cover the other teams base leaving ours wide open.

Am I right in thinking that the weapons you unlock with amiibo are just reskins of really low-level weapons that are already in the game? Or do they have different sub/specials?

That's fine -- it's not bum rushing, it's holding a key choke point. The mall has quite a few. It's in front of the middle, but it's not deep in their base, and it's at an advantageous position, especially if your team is in front of you or in line with you. Most of the time what you're describing isn't overextending.

If you're charging through the map to cover the enemy base without securing the middle first, the opposing team is going to spawn closer to your ink than you are. They can just cover it up on the way to the middle, and your time will be effectively wasted.

Charging past the middle will get you a lot of points, but it's terrible for your team. Having a lone wolf who repeatedly charges into the enemy base isn't much better than having a three player team.

They are taking the same time as you spent inking their territory though. So that statement is false. You ink all along the way and they have to reink all along the way you came.

Now if you're talking about the time it will take for you to get back to the same point given that you have died, then yes, it is longer.

Getting up in their base means they have to deal with you, giving your teammates more time behind you to ink up the choke point and get set up.

Seriously I have wasted so much of the enemy's time by holding a good position in or near their base as they try to kill me. This strategy might not work as well later if people start to take the hint that they can be more effective elsewhere, but until then, I'll continue pressing the advantage and being a nuisance to the enemy team.

?????

In order to cover up the opponent's base, you have to travel through your own territory to get to there, likely die on the way because you haven't secured the middle yet, and start covering opposing ink.

In order for your opponents to cover it up, they have to travel through their own territory and shoot at it.

Your theory is only true if no one on the opposing team ever dies, which seems pretty unrealistic.

Hello. I got extremely lucky today in getting Splatoon! Soo happy! :)

Anywayz: I wanted to ask: I am very indane about my playtime being accurate and want to play single player first so I can write down the Activity Log time (lol ai know) before I play any online, so how many stages are in single player?
