Here's another one of those unsubstantiated weapon X will rule the game posts...

but beacons are really amazing in ranked. Every second counts and what is important in ranked is to kill off, or at least guard, all the possible attack angles your enemies can come in. When you have a beacon deep in your territory, it's another angle of attack you have to defend or you have to go after it which can also trigger a comeback if you fail doing it.

Yup - I saw (and used) a lot of people using beacons on Saltspray for easy superjump access back to the upper levels or back area. Ranked really changes the use of a lot of weapons. Chargers feel a lot more useful and roller less so as covering a ton of ground isn't so key anymore.

I really hope Nintendo doesn't overreact and remove this feature when they see things like this...
Or... People should stop posting things like this if they don't want Nintendo to potentially remove the feature (which would be a shame). It wouldn't be Nintendo's fault.
In ranked do the teams change each time? Even if you don't leave after a round?
Yeah. There was this person who was killing me constantly (and being killed constantly by me) who was in the same team as me in the following match.

? Saying you're good with it? Great killing power, but don't really contribute any to the actual painting. If it had slightly more range I'd love the damn thing, might as well use the roller instead of it.
I think it's great since you can wipe out an entire team. Seconds really count, and if you can take someone out of the action it can be the game winning factor. There's a lot of drawbacks to using it like short range and shit coverage, but if it didn't have those shortcomings then it would be too strong.

I'll try it a bit more, was in that new cargo map and never could find situations where the aoe was useful.

The miiverse stage in smash is going to be so good.

Nothing feels better than carrying your team by going on a 6 person kill streak to keep control of the area when you're the last person in the zone and the other team is surrounding you

How is the Rapid Blaster? I've just unlocked the weapon at the store, but am currently saving up money for 3 star gear and don't want to waste money buying a weapon that isn't effective/fun to use.

On paper it looks cool; a sorta grenade launcher with mines and the bubble special sound like an effective combination.

They'll probably just remove the offending Miiverse post.

Until everyone starts drawing dick butts
I'm hoping they ban offending users for some amount of time. Even the tame memes are getting old. Maybe I've just seen too much of the meme side of the internet. The drawing and art they had before the public got their hands on the game was great...still a few good stuff now too, I guess.

Don't really have a choice, the GamePad makes my hands ache after 15 min or so. Worst ergonomics of any controller I've used.

Which is ironic because the Pro controller is probably the best I've ever used. It blows my mind that this game doesn't support it. I didn't even know that games couldn't support it. Unbelievable.

The Wii U's gamepad is so integral to the system's concept that we saw the controller before the system itself. AFAIK, the Wii U does not come with a pro controller but it does come with a gamepad. It must be hard to own a console while being allergic to its primary controller. I'm surprised you kept it after finding it so unusable. Being unable to play after 15 minutes sounds debilitating. Splatoon is not the issue here. You should be returning something else: the Wii U itself.

Holy shit, I swear...I was in love with this game after playing it all weekend...and THEN, they unleash Splat Zones! It feels like a completely new game! I am loving it! It is crazy how the entire strategy changes when you are going for one little area as opposed to the entire map. I have been loving the SMG type guns, but longer range stuff is definitely better in SZs.

WOAH!? Is it overtime whenever the losing team has control when the clock runs out? That happened to em they has 2 points left, we had 20, then overtime happened at we made the comeback.

Does anyone know how the armor works in ranked because both teams were neck and neck trading the zone back and forth then suddenly we got 53 armor and they got like 20, the match went to overtime and we lost because of it, this armor thing is pretty annoying

Aren't there animal crossing devs on this game? I wouldn't be surprised if this segemented approach to content and 'cycles' between map rotations has to do that

i wish people wouldn't blindly super jump if they don't have the powerup that stops the mark from appearing

You wouldnt know most of the time, and alot of times things happened while your superjumping, like Ive jumped into killer wails like 3 times now because someone set it off while I was mid-jump. And the worse part is that person didnt even get anyone except the person who superjumped into it, so now they all feeling good from a coincidence.

Think I'm going to stay away from ranked battles tbh. I like the game mode but the all or nothing thing kind of seems like a waste, especially considering you only get 1800p. A good run on Turf Wars can net you 1200-1300 or at least 700-900 guaranteed so it doesn't seem worth it imo.
