Yes, under Windows as well. Why wouldn't it?
Assasult on Dark Athena was D3D if I'm not mistaken, original Butcher Bay was OpenGL though.
AMD's OpenGL driver is still as shitty as it used to be when you compare it to NV's. There's also that little thing that KOTOR2 was ported from the original Xbox which had NV GPU in it. The game was always somewhat problematic to run on ATI/AMD hardware because of these reasons.
Yeah I was completely unaware that the PC version also ran on OpenGL :lol. Odd decision considering even the Xbox used some form of DirectX though, didn't it?
Thanks for clarifying though, at least the game runs better than it did last time I played it, it used to go below 30 FPS constantly but now it manages to stay above it. Still, kinda odd that a 280x can't at least bruteforce performance out of an Xbox port.'
Oddly enough, the first game does run at a locked 60 if I disable Frambuffer Effects, but the settings menu in 2 seems to be bugged because sometimes when I disable them it the framerate is still butt and if I check the options all it did was either disable shadows altogether or disable smooth shadows, with the framebuffer effects still on. I better just go into the settings file and and disable it and make it read only I guess. I mean you miss out on what, fancy cloak device effects? Not a huge deal
