Started Mission 21 and Miller told me that Mother Base was under attacked and that I should return quickly. I aborted the mission and everything seemed ok at the base?

Restarted Mission 21 again now and same again. This time, I called the helicopter to return...and again Mother Base is fine. What am I doing wrong?

you have to activate the mission through the idroid. not go back to base.

I finished the mission by using fulton on all of the heavy armor, and shot down the helicopter with the rockets. It took me like 15 tries.
 
Well well well. I just finished the game a few hours ago, after 120h.

That story, what a steaming pile of shit. I think I'm still too enraged to see the good parts right now.

All we got from the game is that BB really is an asshole, but otherwise, we haven't seen anything of his story between PW and the creation of Outer Heaven (Sniper Wolf, Gray Fox and Naomi, Foxhound).

The frustration and disappointment hit hard.

Right now, I'd do to Kojima what Skull Face ( whoooooooooooooo ) did to Paz!
 
I just finished the game. Is it impossible to get Quiet back as a buddy? Seems pretty lame to have all of her unlocks, only to lose her for post ending mission/side-op cleanup.
 
Just beat it. I've never felt so ambivalent about a game before. It's simultaneously my favourite and least favourite MGS game. Best gameplay in the series, but such a disappointment from a story perspective.
 
The only actual instance of phantom pain in this game is the phantom pain I feel from having the fucking 'link between games' that I was promised taken away from me.

The Phantom Pain that was the promise of getting to finally play Big Boss during his descent, when it turns out you're not him and his REAL descent is little more than that he's a bit of a douche who wears a leather jacket - and somewhat of a coward for letting some dude take flak in his stead.

No Kojima, I DID NOT RIKE IT.
 
Do most of the reviews seem to indicate that they finished the game? Or are these 9's and 10's based on chapter 1? IMO 33 hours IS too soon to judge the quality of the complete package.

It really does sound like they thought they finished the game after Chapter 1, yeah. Would explain the super high scores. I love this game, but it's definitely flawed.

Reviewers from the Konami "boot camp" said they had about 30-40 hours of time with the game. Some beat Chapter 1, some didn't even get that far. Some were using Chicken Hats.

Even if reviews were based only on everything up to Mission 31, it's nowhere close to being a 9 or a 10. The pacing in that first chapter is so horrible and the story is so thin and the missions are so repetitive.

Don't think so. How is it even possible to be like "I guess this was it" with the chapter 2 teaser after the credits?

We should be used to it by now. PO, PW, MGSV

3 games promised to be the missing link to Outer Heaven and all 3 lied. somehow the Kojima-less PO got the closest.
