Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Developers Answer All Your Questions! [Contains Spoilers!]

This game is legit incredible. Im rolling credits and probably the best game of my adult life.
Man, honestly, I thought I had kinda moved past video games. Nothing was really doing it for me. I mean… maybe once a year i would a game that I "liked."

This game changed everything. It reminded me just how infantile media as a whole (not just games) has become. That there is room and indeed a market for mature games. Done with adult characters facing real things and consequences.

It's the game of the generation for me. Easy.

Yeah, I had the same feeling with this one. It's hard for me to really care for a game these days. I am just moving from one game to another, but this game made me do multiple playtroughs.
It also reminded me, why I don't like these new Final fantasy games, especially 7 remake & rebirth.

Amazingly, the studio was formed by some ex-UBI staff during covid. Somehow in 5 years they put out a great game with reasonable amounts of staff and costs compared to most big budget games.

So it shows how stifling big gaming corporations are. A game like Clair 33 would never be made at UBI. They'd take one look at the game and say forget it to an RPG with limited mtx. But if the game was AC or a game with tons of gunplay with endless mtx, they'd be all aboard.

Completely agree. I was watching the ending and thinking about the topic of the game and the journey I've been on and it clicked with me.

I feel like smaller double A games or whatever you want to label this masterpiece have finally reached a level of a masterfully made independent film.

This game is more mature, clearly created by masters of their craft in every category.

Art
Music
Design
Writing

Everything in this package is at a level unseen in video games for what feels like years.

In a industry that everything feels like some suit chasing the "bag" or whatever kids say nowadays...along comes a game that truly creates something completely original from top to bottom.

Its reignited my genuine love for what a masterfully created video game can be.

Fuck the open world assassins creed copy slop and give me more of this....

And I dont mean turn based RPGs I just mean games made with love and passion that tackle mature themes

Im with you, man. Best game of the generation by a mile for me.

Just platinumed today. Game of the generation contender up there with Elden Ring and Baldur's Gate 3.

It did take them 6 years, but it's amazing what a small team of 33 1/3 talented people can achieve with their passion and vision compared to the corpo triple A slop machine.

I was feeling exactly the same. So refreshing, got my motivation back to play games again (except for the Gestral beaches!!!) 😅

There was a bunch of copies on Amazon a week or two ago. Don't think you find it in physical stores though

GameStop just got some in recently. Though if you were expecting Xbox copies that's not happening at all most likely. Like good lord just print some more of that version already.

Xbox probably less incentive since most are satisfied with just the gamepass. Only ones that want the physical for display for Xbox only the really big fans.
