Destiny - The Taken King |OT| Time to Explain

how does 1.14 translate into 2.0?

also how soon will i have to buy an enternal hard drive just to horde the ridiculous patch sizes that dont seem to over-write the original disc based install data that it either doesnt need or just reuses and is now basically half of the full Master Chief collection's size of 80 gigs, guess that means Destiny now has at least half as much content as any 2 of the Halo series does, right guys?

I would say that Destiny has as much content as 2 of the Halo games at the moment, yes. At least file-size wise.

I have the Digital Guardian Edition of the original game - I assume this is the only option I have to upgrade digitally? I noticed the collectors edition bundle also includes "Digital Content: 3 Exotic Guardian Class items with XP bonuses, 3 class-specific emotes, and 3 armor shaders." but I can't get that - is there no other way to get that content?

That content will be $20 by itself and they will start selling it on Tuesday.

Don't you get any rewards from Vanguard (or normal strikes) this week? Just did a Vanguard strike and didn't recieve any points or loot :(

So is there nowhere to view your characters defense now?

Who else finds it odd that you can't even view your characters damage/defense stats? That's been a pretty major staple in loot-based games.

You get nothing until it launches. It's shit.

It was 20 bucks for the Dark Below DLC? Wow. Just wow.

I think more people felt burned by HoW than TDB. The pricing was outrageous though considering what was being offered. These will never be these awesome grand expansions like WoW or something. It's all overpriced but TTK is probably the closest to "value" we've gotten.

Your light level is both your defense and attack, hence why weapons and armor have now been normalized to have the same number value

It's more of a one week trial to see if any issues arrive, shame though, but they don't want people leveling up or getting a head start I suppose.

What it really does is fuck people like myself trying to catch up. Obviously they couldn't figure out how to limit the gear generation from playlists to Year 1 or didn't think it was worth it. Either way it's really shitty.

If you nort 34 you should be still getting xp from the abandoned mission replays

For someone who hated PVP in this game, are the new modes an improvement? And will they be permanent or do they rotate in and out?

As someone who also dislikes PvP, I've got to say Mayhem is just incredibly fun. The constant use of powers really levels the playing field, and makes everything incredibly fast paced and chaotic.

You can absolutely still level from the story, I'm mostly talking about the gear. You have to suffer through random drop engrams rather than get some decent rewards from the strikes as you progress. Just makes the ability to catch up far more tedious. I'm playing as a completely fresh character.

It is a bit shitty. I'm currently trying to get a Warlock levelled up from scratch, and it's bloody annoying not having the extra options to speed things along.

I'm incredibly glad I always saved the decent random stuff I got for other classes with my hunter now though. Once I hit level 20, I've at least got a complete set of legendary armour and an exotic to kit her out with, as well as some decent blues and greens in the teens to use before that.

The undying mind strike I got 7 orbs 4 times, plus a 6 so it's easy if you plan, obsidian mind and bad juju, almost constant super.

I got 6x 8 orbs with my Striker. First time I played that quest, it's fun.

Exactly. You worry less about the bullshit, because the game just embraces it.

Now I'm actually seeing a Legacy playlist that says there are rewards. Some really strange stuff going on.

So uh, yesterday I redeemed the redbull codes, two of them. They both worked and both said I'd have something waiting for me at the postmaster. I went there yesterday before bed and I had nothing. I went to the Bungie website, to the codes area and there was nothing there either for me to confirm. Did I get screwed or what?

Quick question lads, I'm picking up the physical Legendary Edition (or whatever it's called) when it comes out on Tuesday, how much content is on the disk, and how much will I have to download?

I believe it just has the main game on it and you'll have to download the expansions. Could be wrong.

I know you're likely joking, but file size is not synonymous with content.

I stopped playing short before the first expansion released. Is there anything new in regards of matchmaking/party finding, community features?

I'm just gonna use my light when the ttk comes out to auto level to 25 I blasted it Friday night and got to 11 but I really like the changes and I don't want to burn out doing it.

If I already own the original content + the first two expansions, can I use the digital codes that are bundled in (I presume) with the PS4 Destiny TTK bundle to add the new content to my account?

I want to buy a second PS4, and was considering the PS4 bundle as a way to kill two birds with one stone, not sure if that works out the same or cheaper than buying just a PS4 or some other game bundle.

I think people who got the physical early said you get 1 code that unlocks everything, not 3 single codes for each content.

You'll have to google it to make sure.

Well technically I don't think this trial is not even for us, the people who play all the time, this is for the people who got stuck at 20-22 to come back, level up to 34 stupid quick, and make last minute ttk purchases

So how is this going to work for people who don't but TTK? We won't be able to level past 40 because we won't be able to equip the new gear? Will the new gear even drop for us? What about crucible? Do we get a separate playlist from people with TTK?
I've never played a game with such reliance on multiplayer before, so this is the closest I've ever gotten to an MMO.

Not sure about crucible but new exotics look to be level 40, so even if they do drop for us, we'd never be able to equip them.

Guys, I had destiny, sold it and now I want to get back into it. If I buy this new expansion, will I be able to just jump into multiplayer and be competitive, or do I need to play the regular game, rank up and get all the gear ect?
