Destiny - The Taken King |OT| Time to Explain

How do you unlock the notorious achievement now? I just got crucible rank 1 turning in some commendations and it did not unlock.

what dose this mean?!
It's a bad omen

I was actually wondering about that.

Do we know why some Exotics are 280 while others are 290? My Impossible Machines are 280 but my Thunderlord is 290.
Did you get Thunderlord from an exotic Engram? Because every exotic I've gotten from an engram has been 290 whereas the ones I've used Legendary Marks on were 280, so I assume it's because of that.

The ones you buy seem intentionally weaker since you're handpicking what you want.

I bought the impossible machines from xur then got them again from an engram while farming with coins and the ones from there were 290.

Edit: Oh, if you got it from an engram then that's pretty weird.

Im doing one of the House of Wolves missions and wondering how I can get "fallen shiplinks"? I think its mission 7 "Scatted Pack". I'm still trying to figure out how this game works.

Could someone please point me toward a guide for people who haven't played since last year? I bought TTK legendary today, but I'm overwhelmed at the thought of how much new stuff there is since I last played so I'm looking for a place to start.

Would it be best to just resume my old lvl 29 hunter in the new story missions?

Turn in disc to gamestop, get Legendary edition for $40, get all year one dlc plus Taken King.

....Thanks for this! GAF getting me hype to play, and this really wasn't on my radar. Said I wouldn't come back until Bungie put in a Matchmaking system for Nightfalls/Raids, but my will is starting to crack

Have tried reading the description when you highlight the quests? You should get them by killing fallen on Venus

Ive seen the raids and they impossible with randos. Players would need a giant handicap bonus to be able to complete. And what would stop anyone from calling it quits?

It seems to be worth a gamble right now, before Bungie reduces the drop rate for them, which they've already said they would probably be doing. With five Three of Coins, you have a pretty good chance of getting an exotic for basically 7 Strange Coins, or about half price at least. Nothing is guaranteed of course. Strange coins are much easier to come by now, so even if you get nothing, it shouldn't be hard to make them back just through normal gameplay.

Thanks for the info. Went ahead and did it. Got an exotic on my 4th 3oC. Didn't pick it up for whatever reason. Ate my last 3oC, went back and it was gone. Just about had a heart attack. Later found it in a corner. No idea why it moved. So happy I found it.

If you remember the vibe of the story then sure.

Personally I started a new hunter and replayed the main story just for fun and got a kick out of if. The Dark Below and House of Wolves (the 2 DLC's) are mostly built into the story now and flow pretty well. Then just keep playing and leveling with small bits of PvP thrown in until you can play Crota's End Raid. Get a group and do that, It's not required but it makes the story flow better in TTK.

Most of the stuff is well explained now. Ensure you have the highest light gear you can equipped at all times to maximize damage output and defense.

Grab a group and do Vault of Glass if you havn't before, It will introduce what to expect from raid's I'm sure GAF will have a few people willing to give you the sherpa treatment.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!iu saedirfugasku ydfgukya\sdf gkuy\sdgf uksdvgfu

We FINALLY got Oryx down to 1%, he went to the front, we all went ham, and it wasn't enough. He had the smallest sliver and then he wiped us. SHIT. -.-

If I start a new character to replay the story, should I also take the boost to level 25 I heard about, or just go from level 1?

are the worst in any game, sucks :(

If you take the boost to 25 then playing the story afterward will get you above 25, so you might as well use it to jumpstart your level? Keep in mind that your grenades and melee special attack do damage based on your level so playing level one missions at 25 will make them a bit easier. They are pretty easy anyway though since hard mode has been removed as an option for the initial play through no matter what.

Not sure how long the deal is until. I'd hurry.

Edit. Ends the 21st of September, so still got a couple days.

How is matchmaking any different from finding random strangers to play with on destinylfg.net or wherever?
If people want to finish a raid, they'll invest time to do so. Real life and PSN disconnects happen to friendly-er groups too.

Love the way Taken enemies randomly appear in low level zones.

Also love the new patrols. Did a bunch on Cosmodrome and got the ????? chain of quests and ending up
fighting some giant Taken dude and a massive mech tank thingy
. Lots of fun.

I still think if you didn't like the game before you won't like it now, but it really is a polished, proper fun game right now.

I completed a gunsmith gun and went to turn it in. How does one turn it in? There's not a single option I see at him or on the gun.

I feel the Hunter subclass was the missing piece of the puzzle (of course all third classes are, they have the missing element, but still..). I've been a Hunter since day one, but I always missed that team assisting ability.

With the Nightstalker I can do just that, plus, its gameplay feels excellent. I jumped out of my seat when the Graviton Forfeit dropped. Dunno how good it actually is, if Shadestep + one of the other 2 abilities is a good advantage, I just started today. But dem looks!

What if you enjoyed the game but just got bored with the skim milk story after the first month and the first two expansions seemed way over-priced and haven't played since vanilla?

Man I only just got my sword. It's so much fun though. Hit 280 light. I played over 500 hours in year 1 Destiny and now I feel like a noob again and it's great, haha

I'm trying to get a few Calcified Fragments I'm missing from the raid, if you have a checkpoint right after Golgoroth, I'd appreciate a taxi. Just need a quick invite and you can bail out (or follow along for the two fragments :D)

PSN: Fuzzyfuzzybunny

Nightstalker is by far the most awesome stylish class ever, I tried the quiver perk during some missions today to get some practice in shooting multiple moving targets and just love the triple jump with it.
It feels so good when you hit your target with every jump. Next step is to add some 180 to full 360 turns with it.

My favourite thing to do though is still the explosive tether shadowshot followed directly by a rocket into a crowd during one high triple jump. It will just rain orbs.

Tough to say. There still isn't a whole lot to story mode. It's better but still quite short. The new quest chains provide a lot more content but it's mostly replaying old quests and grinding. I've already played close to 15 hours and have a lot of quests remaining plus the raid to get to once I'm high enough light level. As someone who skipped the first dlcs it's worth $60 IMO

Completed lost and found quest and didn't get Boolean Gemini. Any reason why I didn't get it?

I got the Boolean Gemini today after the quest. I did the Variks questline before that and am rank 5 with the Queen. Dunno if that matters though. I heard people saying you should by atleast rank 3?

I am completely hooked on this game right now. I've been grinding on the exotic scout rifle quest line on and off all day. Can't wait to get that thing in my hands. Not sure what I'll focus on next.

What has everyone been spending their legendary marks on? I have 150 atm and I'm gun shy about spending them. I was thinking of picking up chest or helm from the hunter vanguard leader since they're really big upgrades atm. Is there something else I should save them for?

Been back for 2 days now, can you no longer exchange materials (like Spinmetal) for reputation? Only see dismantle items/motes/ammo as options.

Where do you get this coin?
I'm level 34 and the only things I can do is complete the story level

You can get them from Engrams, chests(Opened 2 today that gave 5 each) and I think the Daily Heroic Story quest (Not high enough to do these yet so memory is a bit fuzzy).

This game is so good when you play with friends

I was doing the heroic story solo, two ex co-workers hopped in for the easy marks (I was at the boss) next thing you know we are running heroic strikes, and doing the Cabal Sky Key quest (started by a random drop) then go back to the tower and use all my weapon parts and armor parts to level new monarchy multiple times to get legendary primary / special and heavy weapons. Sitting at 276, was at 245 when they joined.

Even if I hit 280 I know I'm not raid ready, I didn't even do the nightfall yet. But God damn, this game man.... And this is only on my warlock, I didn't even touch my titan or hunter yey
