Yikes, my AMD 7950 is probably considered minimum territory.

Same. I don't want to make a short term upgrade given the big advances that are coming next year. Seems silly to drop 300 on a 970 for less than a year, but that 7950 is definitely showing its age.

Aghhhh, this will be my first Fallout game where PC is a viable option. Not sure whether to go PS4 or PC yet.

Mad first world problems over here.

Eh, since when these two are equivalent ?
I mean, 550ti is like vastly slower than 7870 !

Note the 8gb RAM *minimum* requirement. This game is very memory hungry. (They mentioned that in an interview, it comes from console having 8gb memory).

I don't know why anyone would buy a Bethesda game on consoles if they have a capable PC.

Not trying to sound like a dick but these games are known for being blown way open via mods.

For what I have seen 780 seems a bit excessive. I hope you still can max it with 1080p with lower GPUs like 680.

My GTX970 agrees with me that we're ready for yo ass.

My GTX960 agrees like the lame tag-on guy at the back of the team.

Otherwise my rig blows it away anyway, gonna run fine. Man, it's the first time in 11 years I've been able to say that. What a privilege having a new gaming PC.

They're still fantastic games on other platforms too though. Barring the debacle with the PS3 versions of NV and Skyrim last generation, that is.

Mods are great, but honestly, the best time to play the game with heavy modding is a year or two post release when the patches have stopped breaking them, and most of the big mods have had all of their own little issues ironed out, and of course that unofficial patches have gone and fixed most of the leftover bugs that didn't get squashed in official patches.

My plan is F4 on PS4 this year, and then grabbing it cheap during a Steam sale in a year or two when I've built a new PC and can enjoy all the mods.

Exactly. Maybe they meant a 750-Ti, that would make more sense. And since when is a Sandy Bridge i5 the same as a Phenom-II? These specs.... nonsense.

But it's not the first time Bethesda has weird sys. requirements. RAGE minimum GPU requirements: GeForce 8800, Radeon HD 4200. That's right, a (then) midrange card vs. a POS integrated GPU.

Mods on PC won't be available at launch, the Creation Next modkit arrives a few months later.

Also, both XB1 and PS4 will support PC created mods.

I mean, technically, but you're out of your mind if you think here will be any sort of parity there.

I wish we knew what settings, resolution and framerate those recommended specs are supposed to achieve so I can have a good estimate of what my 780 Ti can do.

Great, SUPER convenient especially on Xbox One. Goddamnit it's 2015 how hard was it to add an ingame language select option?

Oh man. That's higher than I was expecting. An i7 & 290X.

Why can't they tell us what performance that will give us? I hope I will be able to get decent settings with my i5-4590/R9 290.

Very true. I suspect what it'll mean though, is that we get the more robust, polished mods, but don't get 30 different kinds of outfits to make your female character look sexier/nude. Or dude have giant dicks with console commands that can make them erect.

XB1 and PS4 won't be able to handle high res texture packs, or anything else that would push the system limits.

See, I've only just got back into PC gaming at the end of last year, so, I missed out on all that mod stuff and am just completely ignorant to the whole scene.

PC sounds like the way to go, for me.

LOL! 550-Ti and 7870? How? The 7870 is more than twice as fast as the 550-Ti!

Yet another set of system specs which don't make too much sense. Like, what will justify a 780/290 ?

If one is only aiming for console settings at console framerate I can see the 7850-7870 doing the job fine.

It did with Skyrim. There were very, very few mods for Skyrim for months. Those that did exist did little.

YMMV I stopped playing by the time the creation kit came out and only because I spent more time downloading mods and altering them than actually playing the game. Which I did a lot anyway. Many of the staple mods were already there in some form or the other before it.

Obviously. I never said it would. If you want to completely hack the game to pieces, get it on PC. Most people are casual audience who don't know what a texture is.

I am not too sure what that time is in my country, The Netherlands but if that means 12 in the night, I might pull an all-nighter.

Those are bold recommendations for such a mediocre looking game. No offence. I meet the requirements except for my i7-3770k OC'd to 4.2Ghz which I think will be fine.

You basically just said "with the lone exceptions of their last two games on Sony platforms." That doesn't instill much confidence.
