Ant-Man |Spoiler Thread| I Think Our First Move Should Be Calling The Avengers

I haven't seen Age of Ultron, but Ultron is an easy villain to bring back, even if he's seemingly dead in that film. Yellowjacket wasn't necessarily dead, he may've just gotten sucked into the microverse. Someone can pull him out of there, somehow. Ronan is dead, most likely, but who cares? Loki is still floating around. Red Skull can come back. Which meaningful villains have they absolutely killed without wiggle room?

I think any villain killed directly by an infinity stone has the door open to come back. So far, that's Red Skull, Ultron, Malekith, Ronan.

The fact that they've all been dispatched through the gems just screams to me that they are coming back. And I mean-c'mon. It's the Red Skull. He has to eventually come back.

Skull didn't even looked like he was killed, it was pretty fucking clear he was getting transported somewhere, and Avengers confirmed the nature of the tesseract as a portal.

I've gotten shit for it before but I am 80% certain Ronan explodes into white light and gets sucked into the stone - but Gunn has said that Ronan is outright dead.

Ultron is never shown to be killed onscreen. We just see a flash of light and that's it.

Wouldn't be surprised if Skull was the one who brought Earth to Thanos' attention.

So yeah, really liked the movie. Not super hyped about the movie having to end on him becoming an Avenger. That along with the Falcon fight I can see Wright getting pissed off with. Which I found cool, but not absolutely vital to the movie. It felt like they were relying on that as a crutch, when actually I don't believe it was needed.

I also felt like him kissing Hope was a little throwaway as well, their relationship had improved but not to that level. Would have cemented Hope as such an arbitary character had it not been for the post-credits (though that had of course been lampshaded throughout with her resentment at not being picked).

Apart from that, don't agree the movie's formulaic. Maybe a little towards the end, but the beginning is very slow-paced for a Marvel flick, developing Scott's character.

On the flip-side though, super excited that Rudd's Lang is coming back in Civil War. Found his character very endearing, and he's just a nice guy to be honest. I agree the movie's looking a little cramped with so many new and returning characters, but as long as they focus on Cap's role as a lynchpin for the team and his crisis at the warring between the two sides. I also can't see Ant-Man siding with Stark, considering Pym's dislike of him established in this movie.

Yeah I feel like AoU went a long way towards further humanizing Clint, Natasha and Bruce, but they're still spies, assassins, superheroes. Scott brings that "everyman" flavor to the team really well because he is literally just a regular guy in a special suit.

I'm pretty sure this is the case. Well, him and Tony. I bet everyone else is in it as background characters.

In all honesty, if Feig wants Ronan to re-emerge through the Powerstone, he will. Gunn can want what he wants, he's not calling the shots.

Is this the Blu ray cover?

It's also worth noting that when Thor/Loki go back to Asgard, Cap has this little 'oh shit' look on his face. Like he doesn't know where Skull is, but he knows he didn't die instantly. And given they share a serum...

Maybe that cover is just for the 3D Bluray release, and the normal Bluray will have a different cover?

They have done this with many of their movies.
