So is Ren a title like Darth? I hope we don't get a new "Ren" every movie like Marvel movies. The biggest mistake of those movies is they waste the villains.
Ren is a title yes

George Lucas did not write this movie.
Think of it like this:
1. OT = Mostly collaborative effort
2. PT = George Lucas doing his thing.
3. NT = Collaborative effort.
You don't, not even for a second, need to worry about the PT and everything that went wrong there. Nobody that made that shit is around for this. The movie might still suck for whatever reasons, but it won't be because of whatever was wrong with the PT in your opinion. Don't sweat it, is all I'm saying![]()
Huh? I'm not worried about Lucas. I'm worried about Disney turning Star Wars into Marvel movies where they churn through forgettable villains every time.
People planning to wait hours+ in the theatre to get a good seat: what are you planning to do to kill time? I'm going with friends, so I need group activity ideas.
You forgot the death of Jango and birth of Boba Fett scene. At least, I like that scene. It's appreciably dark. There are about half a dozen good things in AotC:
-The opening Courscant chase
-Ewan McGregor performance of Alec McGuinness playing Obi-Wan Kenobi
-Samuel L. Jackson's line reading of "This party's over"
-John Williams
-Padme's many increasingly silly outfits, complete with the last one where a monster just so happen to tear right across that sexy midriff.
-That sound of Boba Fett's sesimic charges. Silence then....BWAAAAAAAAAAAM

Jar Jar and midichlorians aren't even that bad compared to Anakin and Padme. The central relationship (well, arguably second to Obi/Ani) is just so bad; I don't know how you can fix the trilogy when its riding on two terrible performances with terrible material to work with terribly directed. It's rotten at the core.
On the flip side if they somehow redid everything involving those two, I think the resulting films, even with everything else intact, would be exponentially better. I can tolerate the cheese- the originals had it after all- and I actually think the high level plot beats are pretty good. Hell, I even like the idea of following the political scene as a major thread- classic Shakespearean stuff and, given that the fall wasn't just Anakin's but a republic's, it makes sense to touch on it. George had something with the whole modern take on a classic tragedy; he just ruined it with the execution.
My stats exam was moved to an hour before my showing. Without stating the obvious, it's even if the exam didn't take me a full hour I can't exactly just show up 5 minutes before it starts and get a seat that isn't the first row.
I emailed my professor requesting to go to the exam time for the 11 AM section of the class. The problem with this is that my section doesn't have the exam until Thursday, whereas the 11 AM section takes it on Monday. That cuts out four days of potential study time.
No idea what to do.

So I showed my girlfriend the trailers for this movie, she's a massive Star Wars fan but she says it looks really bad.
Not being a SW fan I'm just curious, what do people think?

Does she like the OT? It's hard to see someone who does not loving the feel of the trailers or at least the returning characters. The tone is spot on imo.So I showed my girlfriend the trailers for this movie, she's a massive Star Wars fan but she says it looks really bad.

I have to wait for Saturday to go with my sister as well. She got a new job and could technically go Thursday, but I already have the tickets purchased.Saturday too.
Honestly I wanted to go Friday, but I told my sister that I would go with her and she now only can go to Saturday (despite she told me Friday was ok at first).
It's not so bad. She told me to wait for Christmas but fuck that.
Everyone I know that that is a fan of SW loves TFA trailers.

Yes, my main problem with PT is just Anakin. He's just so badly written. I don't know why they though making him the most unlikable character in the series was a good idea. I was supposed to feel bad that he ends up being Darth Vader, but I ended up not giving a fuck and though he deserved it.
It also shows how much better Vader is as a character compared to Anakin.

After marathoning the PT, I do agree with that. I still maintain that Revenge of the Sith is a really good film on par with the OT and does not deserve the hate it gets on the internet from Pinkett et al. In the beginning of the film, Anakin is actually a likable person and does get along well with Obi-Wan and Padme. Compared to Attack of the Clones, where Anakin's constant bickering and arguing with Obi-Wan got real tiring. I think Lucas realizes this and really fleshes out Anakin's character in the Clone Wars series and as a result it improve the PT because of this.

Is this thread safe if I've only seen trailer footage? I'm so scared of the spoiler thread. I have nightmares of clicking on it by accident
I'd start with e3 maybeShould I watch the PT? I just rewatched the OT, great movies. I've seen Phantom Menace and Clones years ago, barely remember them. Never watched Revenge of the Sith. I've seen the Plinkett reviews, so I know what happens in the movies, but actually sitting through the movies themselves looks painfully boring. I don't want to sour myself on Star Wars before Force Awakens.

Going in on Wednesday, officially entered the slomo-zone. I booked tickets to three showings on consecutive days, this is like intensive therapy. Waiting feels bad.

I still hate how Anakins turn is handled, the Clone Wars helped some, but besides that, I'd put Episode III above IV in my personal ranking.
My friend just told me he likes the fighting in the prequels more, "it's not boring."
Sigh.
