GameTrailers Most Anticipated Games Of 2010

WTF? My most anticipated game is not their most anticipated game?

RAGE!

I'm glad to see Metroid: Other M, Galaxy 2 and Mass Effect 2 at the top. Those are my most anticipated games for this year for sure.

01. Metroid: Other M

Good year for gaming.

I started loading the video and then saw the Sprint advertising and realized I had been tricked into visiting gametrailers. Barely escaped with my life.

I usually like their lists. Not so much this time. But what are you gonna do. I do have to agree with Metroid though, pretty excited for that.

Why do I keep seeing Red Dead Redemption popping up on these lists? I mean, did anybody actually LIKE Red Dead Revolver?

I liked it. But, this one is going to basically be GTA in the wild west.

No Allen Wake? Really?

No kidding, that game looks way more interesting than stuff like Read Dead, or Halo Reach. I think Remedy needs to show more about Wake's daytime levels for people to really get excited.

The backlash on Metroid: Other M is going to be brutal

I was thinking the same thing. It's going to be the Audioslave of games. Two great tastes that don't live up to the expectations together.

Why are you guys jumping to conclusions?

Remember, Metroid was going to absolutely suck if it was a First Person game-- and developed by an American studio!

That explains one user I noticed bitching about a Wii title being #1. *sigh*

Is M:OM intended to be another title in the 'core' Metroid franchise or another spin-off a la the Prime sub-series?

Yay, first post!

Edit: Ah, Wikipedia states the game is set between Super Metroid and Metroid Fusion.

Hopefully Nintendo starts treating it's other 'core' titles like Other M. One big exciting trailer full of bits that may or may not be part of the game a year and a half before it even comes out. That's how you build hype.

I'm 100% in agreement.

Really weird to see Lords of Shadow in there, and not Alan Wake.

Yeah that could have easily replaced LOS but it is Castlevania..

Whoah, that surprised me. SMG2 getting the hype it deserves. :D

oh, it did, its nowhere near as good as the sidescrollers

Anyway, although I don't agree with SMG2, I do agree with Metroid M, funny how I now trust others more than Nintendo when it comes to Nintendo IPs :lol

No love for the Last Guardian? Pshaw, Gametrailers! Pshaw!

Well we have no idea when that game is coming out. The presumption is 2010 only because it will be five years since Shadow, but we haven't got a clue how far along it is and they haven't hinted at anything.

It's actually better.

As a hardcore Castlevania fan, I'm actually stunned to see Lords of Shadow shine pretty highly on the list. I wish there was more known about the game, especially considering it's more than halfway finished at this point.

I know it's not much to go by but didn't the E3 2009 trailer confirm a 2010 release window? At least I remember it did.

This list has a pretty decent mix of games people will like and that will probably come out in 2010. Nice, inoffensive list.

And your last.

Metroid Prime > Super Metroid.

Can't wait to see them retract this list when this year's Call of Duty is announced.

Has it been? I couldn't care less.

Canadians have no taste confirmed.

Do we have any information about Other M other than the teaser trailer and the E3 interviews?
Nope hell most of the community GT included thinks that Team Ninja is the main developer behind the game. When they are clearly hired for some of their expertise while being guided and directed by Nintendo.

I think it will kick ass. Do the mixed feeling and expectations of failure come from thinking the game will be like NG?

Well I'm looking forward to Mass Effect 2 at least, and Red Dead Redemption could be good. The rest is either meh or not my genre.

For me, the opposite, TN is one of those teams that can make a hell of a combat system without sacrificing pace (yes, fuck you Prime series) and since it is a sidescroller, the worries about the camera system go away :lol

Alan Wake is really something to look for. Too bad it didn't make the list like it should have. Seems like GT either doesn't believe for Zelda Wii 2010...

I'd love to see Other M silence the doubters, but even if it isn't the best thing since sliced bread it'll still have gotten the series back in 3rd person where it belongs. Not to mention I'm ecstatic to see Sakamoto at the helm once more.
