Iirc, it was Telltale who introduced timed dialogue and it was considered "innovative". Since then, it has been popping up in more and more games. Now, if i thought it added anything remotely interesting to a game, i would say that developers are just copying a good idea. But i consider it a gimmick, a bullet point that modern "adventure" games desperately need to have not to be considered classic or old fashioned. Take Firewatch for example: a relaxed and beautiful setting, gameplay focused on dialogue and conversations (with one person) and yet the gamer isn't allowed to read the dialogue options at his own pace? I don't see the point at all.
That being said, i watched a video of Oxenfree and timed dialogue seems to make at least a bit more sense since the conversations involve multiple people. So it's more of a group conversation. And the dialogue choices are very clear and short. So i might actually try this.
Does this have puzzles?
Hmmm, I was trying to avoid watching clips and go in blind, but I should watch a few. I love puzzles in gaming, so I'm not sure this would be for me if there aren't any.Sort of, but they're pretty lightweight.
Well I'm sold. Bought it and the dynamic theme. Sounds right up my alley.Oxenfree is my GOTY so far.
Absolutely amazing game that everyone should buy.
I mean come on it's so cheap for

Are there extra/new achievements with the new content?
Now play it again. It's worth itPlayed it in one sitting yesterday on PS4. Took a little over 4 hours and it was a great 4 hour span. Man did this game have a hold on me. The atmosphere, the story, the dialogue, the characters...
Now play it again. It's worth it
Is there any significant difference between the PC and PS4 versions? I'm trying to decide which platform I should get it on.
First time spoilers, or NG+ spoilers?
Just finished my fourth play through (first NG+). I try to play differently each time but the one constant is I always gettogether. It just feels right.Ren and Nona
This was a perfect playthrough though. Was a dick to Jonas, befriended Clarissa,, andsaved Michael!exited the loop.
Does anyone know if the game changes further after the last spoiler above on NG++? I don't have time to play another round tonight but at least the first couple lines reflect that there might be new stuff again.
I'm pretty sure it's only possible on NG+. I have the trophy for picking up at least four letters, but I only remember picking up two and only one of them seemed to be important (the first one, I'm pretty sure, which you find right outside of the store). Maybe that trophy is from another run, though I've never picked up more than seven at a time.Just wondering to (NG+ ending spoiler I think? Dunno if it can be gotten on NG)do you need all the letters? I got them on my first playthrough at release but I haven't bothered this time and about to get through the point of no return and there was a dialouge option about them so I don't know if they are needed or not and I kinda don't want to travel around and get them all to get that ending I want.exit the loop

I'm not even sure any of the letters are necessary because I was given some conversation options at the end confrontation with information I don't remember picking up, but I went ahead with the one tree I did recognize so maybe that helped.
Can't really explain without spoilers. Let's just say it continues the story in meaningful waysI keep hearing that the NG+ mode sounds great, but I'm not understanding -- can someone explain what's great about it (without spoilers, of course)?
I played for another 90 minutes tonight. Good stuff. I'm probably about 3 hours in. The game keeps surprising me. Very interesting! I feel like it's not getting much attention, which is unfortunate. It's clearly a quality project.

About 2 hours in. I love it, its like a telltale game but cooler
It's an excellent game for that! Go for it.]blacky[;205689259 said:So do you guys think, that this is a good game to play together with your girlfriend?
I made a note a few months ago to do so, but I have forgotten why.![]()
I thought the dialogue being fast increased my immersion
You get to speak pretty much exactly the same amount of time as in a real conversation
Goty contender. Just finished my second playthrough and had so much fun with it. Being mean to my friends was kinda hard at first, but some of the reactions and outbursts are priceless. Nona has some great moments.
Edit: So there's a trophy fornever speaking at all, but I'm pretty sure sometimes you're forced to choose a dialogue option. I assume I'm allowed to talk during these moments, right?
She loves it more than I do ...It's an excellent game for that! Go for it.
