You forgot Sales Threads and Digital Foundry threads for multiplatform titles.

Digital Foundry threads aren't as fun as last gen because of how predictable it is now (PC>PS4>XB1).

Sales threads have died a lil too with Japan being dead and NPD placing a bunker over the publishers! You still get the odd entertaining sales thread occasionly, but the meltdowns have decreased. :(

I'm in agreement with the sentiment that if they're delaying the game now, then there's some truth to the game's unfinished state. Starting to fear more about what we get rather than when we get it.

It would be best if they would just delay it to 2017, but I think they need to have this in their FY, and the backlash might be pretty big after they made a whole event out of it.

See Xenosaga 3. It was 3 games condensed into 1.

No? Not even close. Where did you get that idea? If anything, Xenosaga was closer to being what should have been 2 games expanded into 3 games, and the rest of the story being scrapped. Shion's story arc was never meant to be the entire Xenosaga franchise story. Episode 1 was meant to cover more story, but they had to cut if off where they did and release it because it was overbudget. Episode 2 was supposed to have covered much more as well, but after they had internal struggles about the direction of the series, a chunk of that was cut out into the Pied Piper mobile game, and other pieces of it was cut and moved to Episode 3. By then they gave up on the idea of having the series span different time periods or having different casts for each era, and just wanted to wrap Shion's story up and end the franchise.

Oh I see what you mean. It is true. :(

Delaying it until November would be a guarantee no buy for me. I'll be knee deep in Pokémon at that tme.

After not buying any games this summer I was looking foward to this in September. I'll find something else next month.

I've been expecting 84-85 the whole time never in my mind have I gone higher. Idk if the passion we show at times makes people believe we are expecting the second coming of Christ. Or that it's going to be the Goat but members do make the mistake when they see us talk.

I'm expecting, in some ways, an uneven experience. Yet it's still my most hyped game, and has been for ages.

There's just something beguiling about the scope of adventure a new mainline FF promises (even if the games don't always live up to that promise).

Several people, including Kagari, stating that it's for the better and a delay until 2017 seems surreal to me. In the context of the development of this game, more delays is pretty crazy. To think this game was suppose to come in my actual gaming days (kids family work...have nearly put an end to them) and I probably am not going to play this. Crazy.

Still no squeenix denial about this rumor. I know gaf isn't the most popular website evar, but come on this supposed news is out there circulating. They should say something.

wtf...could it be true...

Personally I could go for a March 2017 date. What I played at E3, while it preformed well, it looked and played quite rough.

Not to mention bugs and crashes.

Delay itself is whatever, but maybe they should have considered the state of the game before they did their huge and weird release date unveiling event. Seems a bit pointless now

They'll say something when the press release goes out next week. Why would they respond now to what is essentially a spoiler?

Delay to 2017, this game needs it. The Final Fantasy brand needs this game to be at the very least presentable.

Because the demos are completely unfun and have horrible technical issues.

I want the game to come out great, but if this rumor is true I wish I didn't pre-ordered it a few days back and use that money for something else ._.

I really wish Sony would allow us to get a refund on games that receive a release date change.

Why do people preorder games digitally?

I understand that it's an option that exists and thus some people will use it, but is preloading really worth going all in on a game of questionable quality?

At this rate, FF7R-1 will be out before FF15, lmao(that doesn't mean i expect FF7R to be out before november, calm yourself)

The current version of the game has really only been in development since the end of 2013 though.

I feel like Square shouldn't spread this fact around too much. A ten-year development time is the perfect excuse for any shortcomings. Game's a mess? Ten years. Plays like garbage? Ten years. "Just be happy they finally finished it", in other words.

That doesn't fly when it's just a normal AAA game development time, though.

I'm cool with the delay, but I wish we would just get official word on it. Fine with it happening, but I want to know so that I can just kinda plan on it.

Delay it to 2017, SE. You know it's the right thing to do.

That'll only be the 11th Anniversary of the announcement though. You want to do it right. 15th Anniversary of the original announcement of the game which would become Final Fantasy XV. 2021 or bust. Do it.

Unless the game is in a terrible state I highly, highly, doubt this would happen. They spent god knows how much money on the Uncovered event, all for it to be delayed? And didn't Tabata say they made it Sept. 30 because they were CONFIDENT in it being ready by that time? I seriously can't see what outrageous circumstances would change this.

If the game is going to experience a delay, it'll be for it flat-out not being ready. And in that case I don't think a one-month delay would do anything... IDK.

Again, if it's delayed, yes I'll be extremely annoyed, but the game will be better for it.

Well, games usually are delayed because they aren't ready, so.

Again, Tabata stated he chose Sept. 30 as the release date because he was sure he could get it out by that time. I don't see what outrageous circumstances could change that, and I'm not sure exactly who would approve of a measly one-month delay after hosting an extremely expensive event for the release date.

*Shrugs*

IDK.

But I say this is highly, highly, highly unlikely.

EDIT: I'm dumb. This entire time I was under the impression that it's a one month delay when it's two. lol That'd make a tad more sense.

I don't think November will be a better time than Sept 30.Its the hardcore AAA season in which FF can't compete.

If its not Sept 30,early 2017 might be a better bet.

November 29th would be a two month delay.

Going up against Horizon, Persona 5, and Zelda would probably be worse. FFXV isn't really aimed at the same audience that plays CoD. I actually think late November would be fine, though Sept. 30th was better.

I think Perfo has a strong challenger for the crown.

Oh my lord I'm so sick of people complaining about the game's visuals with EVERY screenshot and video. Just wait until release.

No offense but I hate it when people say something "doesn't suit the game" when the game isn't even out yet. The songs were specifically tailored to the game and a particular scene... pretty sure it'll fit. It's not a "My Hands".

You guys are seriously the champions at being incredibly overdramatic over random rumors. One, I am 99% sure this is baloney (like most rumors/leaks), two, even if it's true, a delay is only good news. Yes it sucks, yes I'll whine a little myself, but I'll be thankful for it if the end product is great. Though I doubt this is true because a month delay is kind of useless, but I'm not a gaming development expert to say for sure.

November 29th would be a two month delay.

I know, I'm stupid LOL.

PS, apparently the new trailer today said September 30th?

Knowing how SE is it would be conspicuously absent. Just like before Versus XIII was revealed to be XV, they put out the Noctis cologne that simply said "Final Fantasy" as opposed to previous FF colognes that would have the roman numeral written out.

November is a bloodbath of releases it would make more sense to release it in febrary 2017. But is Squere-Enix so....

I'd laugh if they did that. Especially since Persona 5 is releasing in the United States in February 2017 so they could avoid clashing with Final Fantasy XV and other big games releasing around the same time.

Honestly I hope it gets delayed until March 2017. November just isn't a good month for this and I swear it seems more and more like this game needs as much time as it can possibly get. God bless Tabata fighting the good fight.
