Final Fantasy XVI could be shadowdropped on Xbox on January 23, according to NateTeHate

FFXVI is a great game, we'll see how it "sells" on Xbox xDD

FFXVI - 87 metacritic - mediocre game, it sucks, etc...
Indiana Jones - 86 metacritic - great game, goty, etc...

You need to do that at the next sqaure enix financial report 🤣.

Eh. It’ll look up for them eventually. They’ll sell more copies on Switch 2 than anywhere else.

Underwhelmed on Steam after being a late port. Will do worse on Xbox.
But it will pay for itself, and that’s what matters to Square.

FFXVI possibly upgraded to good game by some, shit by others and continues to be great by those who play it

But most of the FFXVI hecklers on GAF are PS owners who played it.

Break even is not what businesses aim for. They aim for profit and i will be shocked if they make alot of profit of old ports when 13 and 15 sold bad day one.

Well, not when it comes to an old port of a franchise that they desperately want to expand the audience for.

Future releases will be day 1 releases, and they will optimize for profit then.

15 certainly was a profitable port to Xbox, going by the estimated sales.

But these are issues for Square to sweat over, not you. Not sure why a certain portion of GAF gets into cold sweats at the possibility of Square’s AAA games losing exclusivity on PlayStation.

Pretty good game but bad Final Fantasy game. I think it will do pretty well on Xbox though, that fanbase loves spectacle games like this and doesn’t care for JRPGs.

We’re discussing the board here and its not like another part of GAF that has been questioning Square Enix's business decisions over the past ten years. So, it’s beyond me how you could write that last paragraph.

That said, I would genuinely be happy to see Square Enix’s stock rising again. However, I’m more hopeful about the potential of the Switch 2. I doubt Xbox will make much of a difference; in fact, if they’re only managing to break even, the opportunity costs might not even justify the effort.

Most people: The Xbox Direct surprise could be anything
Myself and a few others: The Xbox Direct surprise will be Oblivion Remake

Reality: The Xbox Direct surprise game is....

...a Final Fantasy 16 port.
