World of Final Fantasy |OT| Lightning Inside

I just nabbed one of the cute penguin guys from the Ice area fairly early on in the game and I'm pretty sure they have this ability. They "Escape", so it is a pain to capture one.

The Quachacho or whatevs? I got one but it doesn't learn Chill.

As for the OST, I quite like it. Good thing I got this on PS4 too cause if it was on Vita I'd never hear it. I play Vita on the go with no sound.

Gah!! Trying to catch all 3 elements in the starting dungeon secret area is driving me crazy! I got ice and lightning... Where's fire!?!? Two hours now, almost lvl 30 and no fire guy ㅠㅠ

Its first learned move on the Mirage Board is Chill.

Ha ha, I gave up. After seeing the fire dude (who I had) and having the lightning dude run away within my first 5 encounters, I stayed there for like...20 minutes without seeing them again.

Edit:

How did I miss that?

was going to wait until pay day but decided to trade a bunch of stuff in at game for it, only to find it's sold out locally haha.
really tempted to take the trip out to manchester fort to get it...

I will probably never play the game, but at least we got a new Hamauzu soundtrack out of it. What I've heard so far is wonderful. Though, there are some tracks where it sounds like another composer, but I can't tell who.

Fake-EDIT: Ah, now I found it. 3 other composer from Tose on a few tracks, but the majority is Hamauzu.

Hamauzu is amazing. I feel like I'm playing a mix of modern and traditional and part of that is thanks to the soundtrack. Definitely Lightning trilogy vibes from the music, which is fine by me as I loved the general aesthetics of that.

Encountered a reaver mu but I didnt get a prism to catch it

Mu prism doesn't work, and checked Mu board but I don't see reaver mu transfig node

What gives?

Just don't expect some epic story and you should be fine. Its not super long like most jRPG's either.
Sounds awesome. I don't need a super epic story tbh I'd just like fun exploration and battles. The characters look pretty annoying though, but we'll see

No, you don't. You just have to do the crystals a few times again. All of the other stuff is optional. It takes a few hours at most.
"A few hours" is a lot of padding, especially when said padding is literally repeating the exact same content again. No defending that, sorry breh

It's two hours out of a 40+ hour game. Comparatively it's not that much padding at all, especially for a JRPG. It really is just complete a boss gauntlet three times. I'm not saying it's great, but people drastically overstate how much time it takes when referring to it as "the second half of the game".

Jesus, these dungeons are long. I've been using pretty much the same mirages up to
Big Bridge
. I'm finding it hard to replace what I have when it's working so well, and transforming my mirages changes the size so... what should I even do?

Oh my god please just do an entire spin-off/sequel of intervention quests, this shit is slaying me.

The Tonberry/Cactuar/Moogle quest destroyed me.

Look at skill trees for your other mirages and take a variety of different elementals in your free slots. They'll power up soon enough just from being carried. You should never travel with an empty mirage slot.

Eventually you will have to switch it up.

I've been thinking of picking this up now, people that have been playing now, so do you recommend it? Does it have every FF protagonist? Is there anything from XIV?

Also how long will the Sora DLC go? Is the Japanese VA DLC day one edition only? Thanks!

EDIT: I feel really dirty about wanting to pick this up right now but not play it until waaay later and not picking up Dragon Quest Builders for the same reason... But them limited time DLCs always get to me

Recommended, it's good but not mind blowing.

Doesn't have every FF protagonist no. Has the usual fan favorites plus a few dark horse inclusions.

We don't know about the Sora DLC.

Japanese VO is day one only currently, but it's still available both digitally and physically.

Jiant form has basically the same stats and abilities, right? And you go Chibi to use your L-size mirages who are really goddam strong. I try to stay chibi as much as possible.

So are these secret areas people are talking about end/late game stuff? Or can I get at them now? I'm at chapter 8. Didn't know if I was missing stuff..

Wow at Chapter 20. That is all I will say.

Do more intervene quests pop up when you beat the game? I have some to do now,
but they are tied to the story.

So I'm still slightly confused as to why you'd ever want to leave Jiant form. You're stronger right and have access to more skills?

Access to more skills? The main characters don't have skills outside of mirajewels, which is tied to level. I believe base stats stay the same too. If there is any difference it's usually made up by Large mirages being stronger and having better skills*. Stack however you want. I rarely leave chibi, having found L mirages more useful than M mirages.

*and even that is pretty negligible

Most of the secret areas are available after clearing a dungeon's boss. The level of optional mirages will vary, it'll be immediately apparent if you can take them on or not.

There's a lot of side content between mirage collecting, additional areas, villager quests, the coliseum and interventions. I wouldn't get too caught up in it, trying to do it all as you go would kill the pacing.

Yeah, my Mega Sharqual and Trihyde are my MVPs. They're stupid strong.

My big problem right now is actually finding a variety of S size to use. I just keep using the same 2, all the rest seem...meh to me. Or evolve into bigger sizes.

My game must be bugged, I toppled a stacked cockatrice + reaver mu but wasn't able to get the message "you found a new mirage! here's a prism!" for reaver mu, I didn't encounter an unstacked reaver mu yet

I checked online resources but no one else seems to had this issue before

Anyone else had this happen as well?

Looks like the only way to get mirages you don't have prisms is by trading other players for it
(if you threw away extra mirages without getting the prism from it)

Just played it up to the first dungeon where I think I'll get Ifrit. The game is awesome. I love everything about it so far. The stacking seems fun, the fact that every myrage has their spherier is really cool too. The chocochick and Cactuar are the cutest things i've ever seen haha. I think the voice acting are great too .

Sorry for the dumb question but where do I get the SMASH ability to destroy rocks in the first dungeon?

Easiest method is to capture the copper golem in the same area and level it to 10 for trasnfig (mythril golem) and learn its first skill on new board

Huh. Have you fought a Reaver Mu unstacked? I'm not sure if maybe there was some issue with it stacked up. I got a Reaver Mu prism no problem.

All this prism talk made me realize Imprism is a play on Imprison. What are we doing to these poor things?!

Story goes to nonsense in chapter 20, but it wasn't exactly good to begin with. The humor in the interventions and bestiaries is where the quality is at anyway.

I had a similar issue with not getting a prism for Crocadille (sp), finally figured out that if you've unlocked a transfig for a Mirage regardless of whether or not you've actually triggered it the game considers you as "having" it in terms of not giving you the free initial prism. So in my case I had I think it was a Cockatrice with the Crocadille transfig option unlocked on the board via level but I had never actually used it, once I figured that out I transfiged to the Crocadille once and it registered as me having it on the map screen where it shows what Mirages you have caught. A bit awkward but makes sense.

In your case do you already have a regular Mu that has the level 10 transfig for Reaver Mu unlocked? If so that's what's happening. I think this is at least in part why on most/all mirage boards where the Mirage can transfig there's a spot on the board where you get another prism for the same type of Mirage, so that way you can transfig in a different direction if say you missed out on the "first" form of a mirage and only got the second version, getting another prism of that second one would let you have a separate mirage you could change back into the first version. If that even makes sense lol.

The game is a little awkward in this regard in terms of how it handles transfigs versus unlocking a new mirage board - like in my example I started with a Cockatrice which can transfig into Valefor, OR you can unlock a completely new board with Cocadille (who I think can then also transfig into something seperate). But the game still considers all of them the "same" mirage in terms of your sync level even though you can't view all of their mirage boards at the same time. When you're at the Prism Case and you can see all of the possible transfig/unlock options right there it makes more sense, but it's another layer of menuing and is just kind of clunky. I didn't even realize until now that if you if you transfig to a completely different Mirage Board (like how Cockatrice and Cocadille are completely different boards) you keep your Mirage Level BUT you get all of your accumulated SP to spend on the different board since it's a whole different Mirage board screen. Kind of a mess.

I thought it was interesting, then again I'm easily amused. I do feel they tried to put all the
plot twists
in this chapter though. lol

People playing this with Japanese voices are missing out big time. I'd say most of the charm is on the English voice work. Really solid job here, charming and funny. Even people hanging around while I played seemed to pay a lot of attention to the game's dialogue, more than other games.

That's pretty much whats happening, I had Mu board up to Reaver Mu's board unlocked but I cannot transfig into Reaver Mu, and didn't get a new prism when I encountered a reaver mu multiple times.

What's a workaround for this?

I'm guessing looking for a Nut Eater (evolved version of Reaver Mu) and get a new prism from that and transfig down from there

that, or just trade lol

tl;dr = Glitch: Do not unlock any new mirage boards that the mirage doesn't have transfig for until you encounter that mirage first

Wait, so you have the Reaver Mu transfig unlocked and lit up on the Mu board, but you can't actually transfig into it? Having the transfig unlocked is why you're not getting the prism automatically, but there's no reason you shouldn't be able to transfig into it if you have it unlocked. You're transfiging from the Prism Case via the Options button right? You can't transfig on the map or anywhere else.

Mu does not have the transfig for Reaver Mu, only transfigs into Skull Eater and Carbuncle

However, it has the mirage board for Reaver Mu and I unlocked it before encountering a Reaver Mu

I never received a prism to capture it since, and I can't access the Reaver Mu board either

I'm thinking the Reaver Mu mirage board on Mu is supposed to be Skull Eater instead

Got to chapter 8 yesterday. Playing the whole game with my 4 1/2 year old daughter so it's gonna take a while but we're both having fun together so I don't mind.

I get what you're saying but that doesn't make any sense, and I've unlocked plenty of mirage boards for mirages before I ever actually encountered them, and while you don't get their free prism in that instance I've never not been able to change into them via the transfig menu before.

So you're saying you have the Unlock Mirage Board (Reaver Mu) grid in the bottom right of the Mu board unlocked and lit up with the checkbox, but on the transfig menu below the Reaver Mu option isn't there?

Has anyone else had an issue with the DLC? I have the Sephiroth summon downloaded and installed and it's not appearing as an option to buy from the Girl.

Lmao

I swear this game's humor really caught me off guard, it's mostly Square just making fun of themselves lol
Yeah. Even really early on there's one with Lann saying to fire whoever wrote some enemies in the story and Reynn advised to be careful of breaking 4th wall. :p

EDIT: Meant as an edit, so sorry for the double post. XD

How do you get the Sephiroth Champions medal? I unlocked the tea room and the coliseum and all I see is the Warrior of Light medal.
