I'm gonna go ahead and say we'll get two more Ace Attorney characters, Venom, and even Mega Man before any of those characters show up. I have no clue what Ex Trooper is, which means statistically speaking nobody has any clue what Ex Trooper is.

Actually I forgot about God Hand, I'd hope to see Gene make it too.

Don't know much about Rival Schools but I actually really do like Batsu from my experience with Tatsunoko vs. Capcom. Dude has some ballin' supers where he actually brings out his partner to help him beat up the opponent.

Star-Lord

Luke Cage
Black Widow

Kamala Khan is probably DLC since everyone loves her to death.

Ex. Troopers is a spinoff of Lost planet, was more anime-esque and had more fighting game ready human characters and stylish robots.

Lost planet has already had reps in VS game but it was a giant robot.

People should expect reps from series' that have debuted since the last MvC came out but.. there aren't many of them quite frankly.

Monster Hunter rep is overdue, but I doubt the MH devs would be more open now, even though it seems like a no brainer to associate yourself with one of the biggest properties in the entire world for exposure alone (Marvel), especially if they're going to attempt a push in the west.

Long ago I thought a Lost Planet rep would be a shoe-in even for MvC3 (either like or unlike the TvC inclusion, though I like the idea of a person with a T-ENG mechanic), but I don't know now. With how much Capcom has changed since MvC3, it might be best just to stick with the classics for their side.
 
I just hope characters who represent their own franchises in UMVC3 are prioritized over secondary franchise characters. As in, prioritize bringing back Arthur, Haggar, Spencer, etc over characters like Trish, Hsien-Ko, and Viper.

I don't absolutely want the latter characters to be cut, it's just that even if they were, the franchises they represent ARE still being represented. Sure, it would be a shame to lose Hsien-Ko, but at least we still have Morrigan and (presumably) Felicia to back the series up. Get rid of Spencer, however, and you basically completely erase Bionic Commando from MVC, and that would sadden me.
 
For Monster Hunter, I think Brachydios would be a good character to use. Of course, they probably wouldn't use it or many other monsters due to their size.

The arcade credit system is not that far removed from modern micro transactions though. I suppose they could go with a credit being a certain amount of of guaranteed play time instead of just 1 match with the possibility of winning more if you're worried about the value proposition to people of differing skill levels.

I seriously doubt new players only ever seeing other Ryu players would make for a good first impression. Just giving players free credits daily so they can pick whatever character they like solves the issue of lopsided character representation without having to worry about weekly character rotations.
 
People should bare in mind that if Niitsuma returns he'd look to be bringing back as many characters from UMvC3 as possible. IIRC he said he would bring back all the capcom characters at least.
 
The MvC4 rumors are interesting, but also a bit concerning. If it's really happening, did they manage to negotiate a better licensing deal? I feel like it wouldn't be worth making another one if they'd have to drop support in a year again like last time. The Vs. series has always been held back by legal red tape, so if the rumors are true, hopefully we can look forward to something that will be supported for a longer period of time instead of a quick abandonment. The other issue is balancing; will the community accept a game with continuous support where the broken and/or fun things could get removed quickly? MvC3 got a single update, and two minor balance patches that didn't change things drastically. Perhaps adding it to the Capcom Pro Tour would reduce the amount of kneejerk balance changes, but that all hinges on if they got the rights to support it for that long.

I recall him saying that, but keep in mind, he said that like five years ago. Things could have changed. They're also probably not going to use MT Framework for this game.

Yeah I had considered that as a possibility, but if that was his mindset a few years ago I don't think he'd have done a total 180. I'm sure we'd see a lot of the same characters pop up again.

Marvel are notoriously hard to deal with though, so his hands may be tied with them.

I don't think Capcom will have a problem getting a long term deal in place for it. Marvel has been upfront about their desire to have a much bigger presence in gaming. And they want their brand to be associated with quality. It's why they're okay with Spider-man being exclusive to Sony. Licensed games being exclusive isn't common, but they know it'll be high quality so they aren't worried about it. And MvC has really been the most consistent Marvel gaming brand over the years. So, Marvel knows that they don't have to worry about the quality with those games either.

Yeah, but it would fit a TvC2 (or Shonen Jump vs Capcom). The character is too "anime" for Marvel.
 
I want it to be true, but it would be a shame if X-Men reps are not included at all.

I want Psylocke to return, she's been quite busy these last years comic wise (Remender's and Humphries Uncanny X--Force, Wood's X-Men and now Uncanny X-Men) and she also appeared in Apocalypse.

For newcomers, Daredevil and Punisher would be nice in the Marvel side.

If Jill returns hopefully it's her BSAA incarnation from LiN or maybe a new look if she appears in RE7.

And someone from E.X. Troopers, Gene as newcomers. Jin and C.Commando should appear again too.
