I'm like 30 hours plus 3 beasts down and only have 4 seeds. Any tips? I believe all the ones I got were pretty much from climbing to weird high places.

3 beasts down in 30 hours? You might be rushing a bit too much. I´d say I´m 30-40 hours into the game and have only taken down 2 and have not set foot in the western part of the map, I´m not even close to taking the 3rd one down. But anyway, Korok seeds are everywhere, but you have to look for them. See something fishy? Probably a Korok puzzle. Look for stuff that doesn´t match, like you see 3 of the same thing but one is slightly different, so you try to make them all look the same. Look for incomplete stuff, where something is missing and you can complete it somehow. Koroks are literally everywhere except in Shrines and Dungeons.

Yeah, there are two places near you that you can acquire heat resistance armor:

2 -
There's an armor shop in Goron City that sells the full Flamebreaker set. Be warned the helmet is very expensive (I believe it was 2,000 rupees).

I'm here now and is there any point to the helm? Flame Guard only has 2 ranks so you don't need the full set.

Everything requires bloody arrows in this game. I always get "special" arrows given to me when I need them, like when
assaulting a Divine Beast (special mention to having to gather shock arrows myself, fuck you Vah Ruta quest)
, so the game could at least be polite and give you a stock of them at the start of shrines/dungeons.

Oh man, the puzzles you need to solve to get them are everywhere. Sounds like you've missed a lot.

Look around the environments - do you see anything that looks conspicuous? Any strange arrangements of environmental features? Suspicious looking rocks or blocks? Any pinwheels around? Look closely at them and think about how you might interact with them.

There's more types, just don't want to spoil them all. To quote Zelda 'open your eyes' :P

Just blew my mind

... this game ...

There are puzzles hidden away in the environment everywhere.

See a lone rock? Try lifting it
Circle of rocks? Fill in the blank
Two similar-looking patterns of blocks next to each other? Make them match
Circle of lilly pads in water? Dive into them
Offerings placed in front of two statues? Give an offering to the third

There's probably more I haven't even found considering there's 900 of these things and I've only found like 50 or so.

The kid Rito are super cute in this game. Heck, the child NPC characters from the villages are equally adorable.

l hated the way the Ritos looked in TWW (those awful bird beaks on human faces) but they look fantastic here. Love the variety of birds represented.

No. Go with what you're not going to need as much. Like if you rely on the champion's tunic to be able to see the enemy HP/positions, you might want to get the helm instead of the tunic.

I'm nearly 30 hours into and just got near to the first Dungeon by going to the Zoras. But i decided to go somewhere else first and explore much more, because i got the
Zora Armor which allows you to swim up waterfalls
and want to do the Big Four before the final fight.

What? I have no idea what the seeds even are and I just left Plateau. Can someone just tell me what the deal is with this.

After a terrible beginning of the game I did a mad run for the past 2 nights. Manage to get 16 hearts, the master sword, beat two of the main "dungeons" (water and desert ones) , and filled my stamina meter one whole circle. Unlocked all of the Zelda memories (there was no reward D:) And unlocked all but 2 parts of the map (death mountain, and the mountain area above the desert.

Thoughts so far:

There clearly is an order Nintendo wants you to play the dungeons based on enemies strength in the areas they reside. Water clearly being first.

Early game sucks hard, outside the abysmal plateau, once you leave your far too weak and can die too easily until you get more hearts. But most shrines are hidden behind a power wall of strong enemies, and it's clear that there are areas where the enemies are weaker on order to make you stronger. The game is open world in the sense you can choose whichever path you take, but there is clearly an easy route but your not told what the easy route is, or what direction you should be heading.

Mid/late game once you have enough strength and items to explore properly the game is extremely fun. You have more teleports, you set a lot of goals like earning money, getting more food, finding locations, etc. Truly the Zelda we deserve.

Dungeons have been fun but I really do miss the tradition Zelda dungeon. I wish they could had sprinkle one or two optional dungeons. :/

Im not a fan of limited box space with limited item uses. Choose one or the other. This design still upsets me.

Some regular monsters are way too strong. Like, what even? The dude with thunder arrows, even if I properly prepare for his fight he's still OP. I don't understand why there are these super powerful enemies that are even stronger then the boss monsters in this game just roaming around hyrule like they are some average Joe monster.

I hate having to wrangle more and more horses. Hell, Horses feel useless half the time since you have to constantly get on and off them to pick up items. I miss the days of Zelda where if you run over something they automatically pick the items up for you. Actually, why do we have to pick up general monster Drops? I wish there was a system in place that you automatically pick them up, but dropping them yourself gives you the option if you want to pick them up or not.

The map is too big. I got used to it, but the world is way too big for its own good. Scaling it down to 2/3rds of its current size would had been more enjoyable. They definitely made enough content to fill me, but there is too much space between said content that it takes too long to accomplish anything. (Same problem Wind Waker had with the boat before they added quick sail in the Wii U version.)

The game is incredible, but there is a definite need of some quality of life changes. And this is definitely a game you can pour hundreds of hours in finding every little thing. I like the direction the series is going, but there are a ton of quality of life changes I expect them to work on in the future.

(Oh and I still don't know how to make potions, smith, and shield surf.)

Not the right thread but just have to say that another day and another 100 point review. This time by Digitally Downloaded "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has taken over A Link to the Past as my favourite game in the entire Zelda series. Therefore, Breath of the Wild has become what I consider to be the greatest game I have ever played"

Just amazing to see this great game get all the reviews it deserves. Couldn't again stop playing last night.

Yeah, the amiibo unlocks are pretty amazing. Actually makes me think for the first time ever they were worth a damn. I also was one of those idiots who bought way too many of them with seemingly no purpose. These unlocks were grand - outfits, amazing items, shit to sell etc. I think the best part of it is they took the time to allow for rewards from every Zelda associated figure.

Started at midnight with no intent to really get invested and then 5am rolled around. HOW!

I don't think I've ever seen a pinwheel...

I was tempted to start a thread about this but since some folks seem to be getting snarky in a lot of Zelda/Nintendo threads I'll just write a post instead :P Anyway the one thing that's really impressed me so far with Breath Of The Wild is its use of negative space combined with its sound design. It's something I feel a lot of open worlds get wrong and I've just been really impressed with how well done it is in Zelda, in Nintendos first full open world game to boot.

The fact that they give the player room to breathe, to enjoy the journey without trying to purposefully distract you is absolutely brilliant and I really appreciate it. To get across what I mean one thing I dislike intensely, in let's say Red Dead Redemption, is where you are on a horse ride/journey across the map and the game just HAS to give you some little random event (wolf chasing someone, someone needing help at the side of the road etc) in case you get bored. I absolutely HATE that, for a start it's the developers thinking I need something to keep me interested and then there's also a case of were you start to see the same thing repeatedly and it just becomes annoying. In Zelda theres lots to do in the world but I love how they leave it for you to investigate - nooks and crannies, environmental puzzles etc. Noone goes - 'HEY LOOK AT THIS COOL STUFF!' it let's the player discover for themselves and doesn't rub your face in it either. I think there's a lot to be said for the relaxation in enjoying a journey, the silence accompanying that apart from heading the environment around you. This is why I don't mind big worlds as long as they get a lot of this stuff right (including the sound design).

The other important part of this in why the journeys are so fun is the sound design and in BotW it's fantastic as well, it's especially amazing with headphones. Along with how well done the weather transitions are carried out (not too fast and not too slow) the feel/immersion of being in Zeldas open world is absolutely amazing. Standing on top of a mountain with the snow coming down, or running through the shallows of a lake whilst it's raining or even being in a place with the sun beating down - I find it to be very very impressive and it draws me into that world and makes every journey i make enjoyable. So much so I barely ever use a horse, I like to take it all in as I journey about this world.

It's why I spent so much time in games like Far Cry 2, FUEL, STALKER etc as despite all their flaws I just enjoyed their worlds an awful lot. I feel Zelda to be right at the top of the pile in terms of this, or at least a damn good bit close to the top :)

Apologies for the rambling, it's just something I've been really impressed by.

I agree in some things you said and disagree in others, but the bolded specially striked me. You can take Lynels down early on if you learn to evade, that´s how I got the shock arrows. Besides, having strong enemies around makes the world a much more interesting place. You may be pleasantly strolling through some area and then a strong monster crosses your path and puts you in your place, forcing you to escape or find an alternate route or way to get through that area. It´s exciting and forces you to up your game.

Oh wow, I just stumbled upon and eventually completed the
three giants quest
, probably did it waaay too early, got
stomped
to death so many times, had to use several 2x defense up and +3 max health dishes and probably broke 10 weapons before they were all down. This game is brutal! In a way it reminds me on how Zelda 2 is played, that you simply shouldn't enter some areas before you level upp more even though it can be done if you're persistent.

I think I might be taking my time a bit too much, I've played about 15 hours and I'm still in the second region.. Hope I don't get burned out half way through

I'm like 30 hours plus 3 beasts down and only have 4 seeds. Any tips? I believe all the ones I got were pretty much from climbing to weird high places.

Ooops, somoen is rushing. Just got one beast down and I'm at around 50 seeds. Observe your surroundings and stop at things that seem weird or draw your attention.

I'm here now and is there any point to the helm? Flame Guard only has 2 ranks so you don't need the full set.

If upgraded twice, the full set provides immunity to fire (though doesn't allow you to swim in lava). It is nice to be able to ignore stuff like Lizalfos flame breath, but not essential.

I agree I love seeing strong monsters in games that are more or less there to intimidate the player only for you to come back later in the game when you are stronger/better to finally defeat them. I love this aspect in series like Xenoblade and Souls too, as you said it makes the world more interesting. Plus for that Lynel you can just sneak by and grab the arrows.

what does the gerudo lady by the southern town say she needs to get to the island? It comes up as wing or plank in my dictionary. I'm playing the Japanese version.

You can do that quest without attacking a single time :)

I'm having problems with flurry attacks. I probably only got a handful of them done in the last 20-25 hours. Most of them when they tried to teach me how to do them.

I tried to do them on purpose in a Shrine Battle, but it never worked. Something about the timing doesn't work out for me. Do I have to jump in a particular direction for it to trigger?
The game is probably harder than it should be, because I can't pull it off - especially against (probably early game enemy spoiler)
the small guardians in the strength tests.

I was doing a shrine last night that I couldn't figure out how to complete until realising I had to do a slow motion arrow shot, coolest feeling lol. I love doing that move.

I feel like I've been taking my time and exploring but I've only found two so far. Mind you, I only get an hour or so to play every evening so I'm probably closer to ten hours or so in.

30 h may be an estimate I have no clue true time but I'm definitely not rushing. Like 50 shrines as well.

Can't believe I missed so many seeds...

I remember hearing about a fishing village from on villager in another town. Could anyone gibe me a hint where I might find the fishing villahe or said villager?

All I've done so far is go to Kakariko Village and I've got over 30 seeds, a lot of them were up in the mountains. Always lift up any lone rocks if you see them as well

To trigger a Flurry Attack, you need to dodge horizontal swings with a backflip or verticle swings with a sidehop, and you need to do it while they are in the middle of their attack animation.

Mhkay, I didn't know/forget that you had to dodge a specific way, depending on the attack. What about spear attacks? Do they count as horizontal or vertical?

It's near sea level so you might overlook it from a higher place.

I found the village before the tower haha.

I can't stand the apparatus shrines. Gyroscope controls are terrible.

60+ hours in, 1 beast down.

The weird thing is, normal gyroscope controls such as aim assist for shooting arrows is perfectly fine. It's the devices that feel awkward to control. Especially if you don't have much room for error.
