Tired of summoning the Zelda BOTW amiibo again and again for a Star Fragment or the Hyrule Shield... (Summon, open chest, loading... summon, open chest, loading...)

Any tips to get Star Fragments?? Should I wait on a certain spot at night... Or I should teleport from tower to tower at night just looking around for a falling star?

Raid Hyrule castle for the shield. Don't wear Amiibo armor and you won't need star fragments. Problem solved.

Just completed the map. Have a little over 50 Shrines. Around 100 Korok Seeds. Completed house. I've only done one Divine Beast so far.

I don't want this game to be over. I've probably put 60 hours into it already. I hardly ever do that with single player games. 20 hours is typically my max before it just becomes dreadfully boring.

Love this game so much.

That being said, fuck the rain, and fuck blood moons that stack back to back within literally a minute of each other.
Completed, as in climbed all the towers? Surely, you don't mean you've explored everything...

So I decided to be adventurous and scope out the castle.
Killed like 6 guardians on my way in. Paraglided over the moat and got a cutscene of Ganon flying around. Then I get a dungeon map of the castle. Can I leave after this? I freaked out a bit and loaded a prior save as I don't want to do endgame stuff yet!

I was wondering, is anyone else getting really annoyed at how much it rains/storms? Now, it may be where I am at in the game, but it stormed 3 times before I reached the tower and climbed to the top.

Im in the
Akkala Highlands
but it is just non stop with a little sun in between.

What didn't you like about that area? It was the only "dungeon" that
exemplified the same "approach it from whatever angle you can think of" freedom that exploring the rest of the game had. Hyrule Castle was so dense, with so many different entrances and paths up to the top, that it felt almost like playing a Dishonored level.

And on top of that, it felt like an actual lived in castle, rather than just a series of puzzle rooms and combat chambers strung together with a castle aesthetic.
artistically I don't like the blight or the ancient tech stuff so the area was visually boring to me. As far as level design.. By that point I Just wanted to get on with it and I went straight to ganon without being slowed down by anything. I'm not going to explore extra stuff in a dungeon I don't like just because I can

And the boss was a joke. When the last boss of the game, the ultimate evil threatening the world, is the easiest boss in the game....

Yes you can leave at any time. Hyrule castle is a popular looting spot because the best weapons drop. The game doesn't have any point of no return for anything.

I tamed my second horse and just for shits and giggles I wondered if I could feed it. I plucked an apple from a tree, held it, and sure enough it ate the apple.

This game! I can't get over it.

Yeah it's a bit much sometimes. I was doing the other blue flame quest and it was constantly raining.

After like 50+ hours I'm also a bit disappointed in the soundtrack variety. I wish it adapted a bit to the regions you visit. I was exploring a
tropical jungle
today and still the same piano tune like everywhere else. There should've been a few more variations at least.

Some people are realllly easily impressed

Bruh, that's what I've been saying. The amount of people in this thread just parroting "THIS GAME" has been insane, and it's gotten kind of hilarious.

Not a lot of games so consistently answer the "can I do this" question "yes". It's novel.

But can we find another way of talking about it instead of just THIS GAME? lol

You're right, this sort of stuff shouldn't be in the game. Useless embellishment, that's all it is. And also why are there even character models? Cubes would do just fine. And music? Talk about over production.

The old lady in Kakariko village annoyed me so i waited until night and chopped all her plum trees down.

Now she's really depressed and has no reason to live.

I'm a monster!

I think this aspect of it was overhyped, to the game's detriment, because based on reviews and impressions I went in thinking "anything will work! it'll be magic!" and then I learned that not anything works and it's not magic and it's just a normal (but good) game.

I mean, I finished the game and was rather completionist about it, and I rarely finish games and even more rarely finish a lot of optional content in them, so that tells you it's good. But it's still just a mortal game and nothing about it was very novel or transormative for me (except to the extent that it's novel as a Zelda game, which is a low bar because Zelda games have been terrible for years)

So far, I've had zero issues. The Pro Controller works so well, and there's so many ways to cheat the system.

Yeah, idgi. Reading this thread I feel like a motion control savant. Hasn't taken me more than three or four tries on each motion control puzzle to get 'em.

theres got t o be some weird calibration issue with my right joycon. Its constantly leaning to the right even when gyro aiming.

That said, forcing motion control puzzles is still pretty BS. Not sure how far you are into the game but some of them are ridiculous (and you cant cheat your way out of it).

Does anyone have any good tips on how to get star fragments? I need an easy way to get three.

I also need 2 topaz as well so any tips on where to find them would be useful.

Lets not pretend it's just Zelda, pretty much all the VA in this game is bad. Zelda's just stands out the most because she talks so much.

It really hurts the game imo.

Well Zelda, Impa and the old man are the only voices that I have heard so far, but yeah they are pretty bad ranging from mediocre to bad.

Zelda didn't need voice acting.

A rare case of German dub >>>>>>>>>> English dub

I really hope that Nintendo add a patch so that I can change the language to German with English text, it's so stupid that I have to change my Switch setting to change the language with the side effect of changing the text to German as well.

Think of it as post-coital bliss via game. I agree with you to a certain extent (though I am having to deliberately temper my enthusiasm) but people are used to games like this that are crap like Skyrim.

They really fucked up by not letting me pet them. Let me buy the dog owner/petting DLC! 😂

The hard mode is actually a dog companion DLC
but you only get one and it can easily die if you don't protect it well enough from enemies

*people having fun*

"hmm this won't do, gotta shit on that and tell them how superior I am"

please. Spare everyone.

I was being silly, I think that doesn't come off very well in text. In any case, I do think some of the reaction to the game is a bit hyperbolic. It's neat you can feed apples to horses but I just never saw that as being a big deal.

Incidentally, you can just sit there and spam feed them and max out their bond level. If this was a "everything works the way it should" game the horse would get full and you couldn't possible max a bond with an animal in mere moments. This is one of those things that shows you it IS just a normal game. I was actually disappointed by how shallow the horse system was -- again, given the hype about this type of stuff.

Climbed all the towers, though I have probably covered 75% of the map. Exploring is all I've been doing. Ha.

It's my only real gripe, gameplay-wise. I've started to make sure I carry around wood and flint or Fire Chuchus so I can start a fire and hopefully warp to a time it's not raining.

Beat it last night at around 70 hours.

Jumped right back in today and played another 13 (specifically took off work for a week with Switch launch.)

I mean I guess I can try and understand how someone can be unimpressed, but I really can't. I try and play every thing and no open world game has gotten me like this one. In fact, I've been very bored by the genre for a long time. This may have easily moved up into my top 10 games and even maybe my top 3 (with Earthbound and Everquest.)

Three words to describe it: intimate, organic, and enjoyable. Everything felt like it was my game only, it had happened without triggers, and it was fun as hell to play. I will probably continue to mess around and completed shrines and get bonuses (just traded in
a bunch of monster parts for Dark Link Gear and a Lynel Mask!
)

I cannot wait for the DLC and hope that the Hard Mode is very focused. I would EASILY play through the entire game again with more of a challenge.

I don't know. I think the voice acting works. Nintendo just needs to not half ass it. Very wooden dialogue and writing. Hey little guy. Be careful this guy got the best of me 100 years ago. 100 years ago. A century ago. 100 years ago. It has been 100 years. She has been waiting 100 years.

People hate Revali but I felt he had the best dialogue. Hopefully it'll get better as Nintendo utilizes cinematics and voice acting going forward. Keep Link silent except for noises but have full voice acting for everyone else.
