I fear the PS6 won't launch with a disc drive or even have one as an option.I hope Sony is not stupid enough that would sell disc drive separately for PS6.

Anything above 550-600 is risky af. The mass market doesn't accept premium prices for base models.
Oops! Didn't see this in the drop down. Guess you can close it. Lol![]()
That isn't it. If that was the case why hasn't Nintendo dropped pricing? They always do but not this gen. Seems more like other factors. They have no competition in the living room. All the folks dancing on Xbox grave (myself included for a time) this is the future. No incentive to have or maintain a competitive price.
The portable pc's will only get better and definitly be competition in living rooms (docked). I'm currently using my Steam Deck docked a lot in my living room. They have no competition in the living room. All the folks dancing on Xbox grave (myself included for a time) this is the future. So we are looking at gen 10 starting in 2030 at the earliest.

Hopefully not. I want a powerhouse PS6 and is willing to pay for it.
Nintendo probably hasn't dropped price because there are no other handhelds. No competition, thus no incentive to do price cuts unless sales decline sharply. That isn't it. If that was the case why hasn't Nintendo dropped pricing? They always do but not this gen. Seems more like other factors.
I was talking specifically about the living room or console space. PC has traditionally been considered a separate space from the living room and thus steam deck being a portable PC, I'm not sure if it belongs in the PC space or the handheld space , or like in your case the living room space? The portable pc's will only get better and definitly be competition in living rooms (docked). But those things are way more expensive than anything in the regular console competition, so I guess you're kinda right.
Coolest thing about those handhelds is that they belong wherever you want them to be! But yeah, I get your point.Nintendo probably hasn't dropped price because there are no other handhelds. No competition, thus no incentive to do price cuts unless sales decline sharply.

100percent agree with you.Coolest thing about those handhelds is that they belong wherever you want them to be! But yeah, I get your point.
I just think the line between pc and console will fade even more away the next few years
The difference is that a PS6 at $700 will probably be twice as powerful as the PS5 Pro and of course will be their next system and not an upgrade. I thought the Series S was a stupid idea but that might be the only way forward next gen for a lot of people.
