FF16 and FF7 remake/Rebirth have sold, or will sell, precisely what they should on PC and Xbox (if they come to xbox) considering how SquareEnix has handled these releases..
You want more sales on those platforms? Then build up your audiences with consistent day 1 releases and quality versions and they will.

According to these guys SE is actively working on Xbox ports for 7R and 16...but refuse to announce them for some reason. Even though the 16 is well over a year old and 7R is 4 years old, and both are no longer bound to exclusivity with Sony.
As easy to understand as Square's plan (before the 180 turn to multiplataform strategie) was to finish the FF VII trilogy on PS and the plans to port, in any case, would have started recently.
Right now it doesn't make sense to release FF VII remake if it's not accompanied by Rebirth.
For FFXXVI there are fewer complications and you have the game director himself, the producer and the new CEO anticipating the port for Xbox. In fact, FF XVI is more important because it completes the series.
All that said, what is known in the agreement has more to do with what Square is going to release from here in the future. By now what we are seeing is that they are releasing more games than ever on Xbox and has repeated several times that the trend of releases on Xbox will be greater....
NOP, what you're doing is trying to convince people that nothing has changed, that FF and other big IPs are going to skip XBOX and fewer Square games will come along and that the XBOX-Square deal is all a theatrical act that is not going to have any effect or substance. You haven't even tried a little bit to be cautious and wait and see, because that's not what you like or want.
Look, Jez seems like an idiot in need of prominence to me, but in this case what's wrong is the twett that points out something that Jez didn't say.
Jez didn't say that FFXVI was going to be announced at TGS, he said that the game and FFRemake HD collection were close to being announced and that Square's games were coming to Xbox in their entirety in the future.
You can ask ChiefDada if you think it's somewhat doubtful.

My issue wasn't that it was different. I was all over Stanger in Paradise. My issue was that I was just spamming 1 combo the whole game and hitting cooldowns. Stranger in Paradise had dozens of custom combos, 30+ job classes, half a dozen weapon types, elemental and damage type weaknesses, too much gear to even manage, etc.

For adding ff14 to xbox not only did they need to port the game they also
had to create a completely new currency for xbox. Releashed in March and already being played less then the walking dead 360 version.
After the ff14 debacle they'll have to pay for ports or only get the pixel versions.

No, I honestly don’t trust Square can make a great Final Fantasy game again. Saying that Rebirth is the best FF since PS1 era isn’t the flex you think it is. I think it shows how bad the series had been after FF9. I’ve played them all, including 11 and 14 (both times), and I think the series is as stale as Assassin’s Creed.
I’m going to give FF16 a second shot after I play GoT. But my first attempt ended with me more bored and hating the pacing.

Not very many people are going to agree with you, and that’s fine, but it has a 92 metacritic and universal praise
FF16 isn’t far behind either, although more divisive for being an action game and less of an RPG
Both of them are miles ahead of anything since FFX

ff14 was released on ps3 in 2013, xbox rejected the game because it had cross play.
There are many ff14 players, but they are not on Xbox.

That is not what I said. If you read the reviews to day they are not critical opinions, but mostly descriptions of game systems together with emotional, qualitative opinions.
I would love to have a reviewer really evaluating games design and scoring accordingly.

I assume 16 will happen eventually, and I will say no thanks. I don’t think 7R ever comes and that’s also fine. The full trilogy will be dirt cheap on PC eventually if I ever want to put myself through it.
I think FFXVI Is priority because it is necessary to complete the series on Xbox. Besides, it is easier to port one game than two, as is the case with FF VII remake+rebirth.
I still think that FFVII would be released at the end of the trilogy and perhaps already on the "new Xbox" where a port of a pack with the 3 games would be simple and fast.

How many gamers are represented by the "free to play" section of xbox most played games? Not many since it's beaten by small unknown indy games and even xbox a 360 game. (You can’t make this shit up)
ff14 has been quite successful for 10 years already.
Successful enough to still have ff14 fan fest event 10 year later. Where the phillness went to announce that the game would come to Xbox finally.
Notice that all this success all happened without xbox.
To make it worse they themselves rejected that game.
At that event only 1 viewer (who was wearing his playstation outfit for some reason) started crying and screaming about Phil.
Nobody else cared.
In them old days we would bomba when game would be +50% off weeks after launch.
But let's see what the ff community on reddit has to say about the xbox version:

Microsoft have really over relied on western AAA third parties and they’ve had a terrible year.
Xbox’s 2025 really comes down to how good a job PlayGround do on Fable, barring a delay.

Fox has historically not liked the game, it's not something he just sprung up for this topic. Countering someone's subjective opinion with "but look at its meta score" is a moot argument.
I liked my time with Rebirth but it has glaring issues IMO as well.
