SEGA also hasn’t made a console in many years. Sonic wasn’t enough to carry it, which is his point. Halo wasn’t enough to carry Xbox anymore and continued to worsen (critically and commercially) over time.Sonic is still the face of Sega.
None of my friends and family from back then game anymoreThat is also what we're doing now again too!
I don't think MS are "too scared". Rather, they are figuring out what the hell to do with the franchise. Halo Infinite didn't work out. They have now changed engines and need to figure out what they hell they're going to do with Halo. They will port the MCC over to Playstation in time, imho.
I do hope whatever they do next fucking owns, man. Even though Infinite was mid and I didn't much care for Halo 5 and 4. I still do like Halo.I agree, they're looking at what to do here, but also realizing that it's a final bandaid to rip off.
They could port Halo MCC or they could release a Halo CE remake or maybe both. They could also simply reboot Halo.
Regardless of what their plans are, I don't think we'll hear about it until the next phase of their multiplatform announcements which will probably happen after the Switch 2 is revealed.

Could it also be possible that Sony are actively pushing devs to PS5 by not certifying new PS4 SKUs of games or so? (It's a genuine question, I don't know if that's a realistic thing to do for a platform holder or not).I think it might be somewhat telling that Forza Horizon 5 isn't coming to PS4 though pentiment did as did Grounded.
It suggests to me that even Microsoft sees diminishing returns on PS4 at this point, unless you're CoD or EA FC level of sales.
A straight Halo MCC port should be able to run on PS4, but would probably require supporting PS4 Pro (though grounded doesn't seem to despite a PS5 version, so who knows).
MCC is a quick easy buck, but you might make a lot more money long term with straight-up remakes of each game individually.

Ah, alright. I did not know that. Then you might be right that MS might see diminishing returns when it comes to get PS4 ports out.Suikoden remasters just came out and they're on PS4. Lunar doesn't even have a native PS5 version coming out.
I feel bad for youNone of my friends and family from back then game anymore![]()
Halo hasn't been a cash printing machine since 2010.It will go to Playstation..
Single Player games are fine being exclusive but anything where Multiplayer is the primary draw.. it needs players, as many as possible...
You have Halo where PC, Xbox, Playstation and Switch 2 players can all play together online.. you have a cash printing machine.
Would anyone really play Halo on PS? Maybe Nintendo, but I doubt many would play on PS, especially since most of the mainstream populance only uses their PS4/5s as Fortnite/COD machines at this point.
Switch is also a good home for indies. Most of the people who only buy those are mainly families and more casual gamers, which I'm discarding in this case. Just wait until the Switch 2 drops. It's gonna be a game-changer.And Switch owners mainly buy Mario, Zelda, Pokemon and Animal Crossing.
Your point?
Well, if the only version of MCC was a disc with how the game was at launch, that would be bad for the planet, because all those discs would be in a junkyard.I hope PS fans can someday enjoy the pleasure of 50 GB updates every month with the MCC. And then people try to convince you that digital is good for the planet lol.
If they didn't have the possibility to make updates, the game would have not been released in its state back then.Well, if the only version of MCC was a disc with how the game was at launch, that would be bad for the planet, because all those discs would be in a junkyard.
