Is there anything that Xbox could do to get you as a new or returning customer?

For me, the answer is simply summed up in two words:

Could Xbox/ Microsoft do anything to earn you as a new or returning customer? If so, what specifically?

It depends on what you mean by returning customer? If you are talking about games, I never left. Consoles? Probably nothing at this point unless they removed day one PC.

Pretty much the same as what reinking reinking said. As things are, Xbox consoles are pointless. I'll continue to be a Microsoft customer when there is a game I want to play. Then I'll sub to GP for a month or rent through Gamefly if it is available.

Sure.

1. Fire Phil, Sarah, and Matt. Install people who are competent.
2. Do what consoles are supposed to do - offer a wide variety of high-quality exclusive games that you can't get elsewhere.
3. Drop Day 1 giveaways from GP and scale back the service to legacy catalogs or games at least a year old.

That would do it.

I estimate the chance of that happening to be about 0.001%.

They would have to go back to full console exclusives and even then I'd probably wait a while because if I'm being honest they really haven't released anything I care that much about. I never even tried Starfield when I had a gaming PC I just didn't care.

I have never seen a brand so abused like Xbox. Thanks to their shill strategy, it's very hard to know how many YT channels and influencers are actually genuine. But I wonder how online sentiment would have been without the Green Army pushing PR, fake hype, and enthusiasm. I mean; no one is making videos about OUYA or Stadia. In a world without shills, probably no one would have been talking about Xbox for quite some time now

Or if they didn't have the $3 trillion warchest of Microsoft behind them.

I moved to PC in 2011 as my main platform. I have been willing to buy some consoles for true exclusives (Switch for Mario Kart, PS4 for Bloodborne, PS5 for Demon's Souls). Microsoft never gave me a reason to buy any Xbox hardware after the 360, and I don't see that changing now.

The only Microsoft game I've heard about that I might be interested in is Gears E-Day. I'm not interested in more Halo, Forza, Fable, etc. I also feel nothing when I think about the idea of a new Fallout, Elder Scrolls, or Diablo. At this point, I don't think the leadership at Microsoft is capable of launching a new kick ass IP.

I mean maybe if they got rid of the current leadership team, got a whole new suite of creative people, gave them a boat load of money to come up with a bunch of new IP, etc. But they kind of already tried that with that Perfect Dark studio, and that was a big waste of time and money.

They might have been better off. Reading into Phil's emails, I thought he was believing too much of it. Eating his own shit.

It was maybe most intense in the middle of last gen when the army was saying exclusives don't matter. So phil just let that problem get worse. Meanwhile, the 6tf Xbox pro was the most important thing in the world, when irl buyers didn't care that much.

Fire the entirety of the current management.
New management doesn't interact with the cult like shills that have ruined the Xbox fanbase.
Exclusives. True exclusives. PC comes later no more day and date.
Less focus on Game Pass.
Somehow bring more games back for the back compatible program.
Fire all extremely woke devs that have plagued their studios.

Nah.

Now that I've seen what their true game plan is with the gaming industry I'll never support them by buying their products. They don't give a shit about gaming, they just want to turn us into Cloud subscribers they can milk like with all their other services. No matter how many times they do a reset at Xbox they are never going to abandon their real strategy of turning us into milked subscribers that rent games for eternity that we will never own.

Sure, I'm easy. Just offer me a compelling product. That can mean compelling value, compelling experiences, compelling hardware, compelling benefits, but offer me something compelling.

They, and to be fair every one in the game space, have struggled to offer me anything compelling for years.

No. Nothing they can do at this point.

As long as all of their games are available on PC, I have zero reason(s) to get the next Xbox. The same applies to PlayStation; they've gone down the Xbox stupidity path, so the PS5 Pro will be my last PlayStation.

If they released an exceptionally powerful hybrid console PC which was far superior graphically than any competing consoles then I would be all in.

I really don't want the hassle of pc gaming but I would pay a premium for a proper high end gaming machine.

Currently have an XSX and a PS5 Pro.

Sure. They could make all their games exclusive to Xbox, introduce a more powerful Series X Pro priced at $299, drop this GamePass nonsense completely, make online pay free, make better games, keep AAA games priced at $60, fire Phil Spencer.
