So is a used car if you get a bargain but fucking useless if you need to use it for gaming on the go, just like a thinkpad. It is more value for money.
Jesus you are painful as fuck.

For me ThinkPad is more valuable due to it being reliable. And the 1 TB SSD has enough space to dual boot Linux. No, it's not. Only if you value pure hardware specs. For a lot of people portability has a value.
Actually that's a good point. You can get latest M5 iPad Pro 11 for $1K. Different gaming libraries, but it's a much more versatile device, especially now with iOS 26.The value of $1000 PC handheld is crazy poor given how fast these SOCs become obsolete
Of course a gaming laptop has better value
Even an iPad offers better value

Laptops are built for gaming on the go.So is a used car if you get a bargain but fucking useless if you need to use it for gaming on the go, just like a thinkpad.

Yeah i see them all the time on the bus.Laptops are built for gaming on the go.
Steam Deck/Switch 2/Upcoming Playstation handheld are sufficient for those that want to go that route. No need for a 1000$ Ally.Yeah i see them all the time on the bus.
I was playing mine in bed until it blew up and burned the house down.
My main gaming hardware consists of a 5080 and also 4090 laptop btw.
That wasn't what you said and a completely different discussion.Steam Deck/Switch 2/Upcoming Playstation handheld are sufficient for those that want to go that route. No need for a 1000$ Ally.
You can also stream from a regular PC or console as well. Tablets are pretty versatile and iOS now even has emulation (not as good as on Android).I got an iPad Mini 7 like new for $430 last month, you can't do PC gaming on it, but you can do a thousand things better on it compared to a PC handheld
Your gaming habits can be fulfilled without spending 1000 USD on Ally X.That wasn't what you said and a completely different discussion.
My gaming habits are fulfilled with exactly what you describe, so again I'm not sure what your point is.
Also im not sure how an imaginary handheld that hasn't been announced factors into things.
Don't baffle IGN with factsCan you hold laptops in your hand?
Hardcore *rollseyes*Nah, I can hold one with my cock though.
I have done all of those things with a laptop. So, maybe?is this a serious question? yes you can, you want to play using your laptop in the park? on a trip? on an airplane? hell, even on your bed?
Im not considering one. What gives you that impression?Your gaming habits can be fulfilled without spending 1000 USD on Ally X.
Steam Deck is for Steam exclusive usersSteam Deck/Switch 2/Upcoming Playstation handheld are sufficient for those that want to go that route. No need for a 1000$ Ally.
Its very hard to understand apparently.Steam Deck is for Steam exclusive users
Switch 2 is for Nintendo games
PS6 Canis is for those within the PS ecosystem.
Xbox Ally is for Xbox and Windows users.
It's not that hard to understand.
Can I play on your ThinkPad in bed?For me ThinkPad is more valuable due to it being reliable. And the 1 TB SSD has enough space to dual boot Linux.
Just realized what I wrote but what I actually meant was XX50 not 50 series as in 50XX(which I know is what 50 series actually means). I have had a laptop with a 4080 and its a banger. My desktop is a 4090That's what I was hoping.
Can I play on your ThinkPad in bed?
You can play epic games, gog and other launchers in steam Deck with lutris or heroic launcher. As far as I am aware, Steam covers all your PC gaming needs. If instead of the superior Linux experience you want the closed spyware experience of Windows, you can always have other windows handhelds. But Steam Deck, Switch 2 and upcoming Playstation handheld are at a reasonable price point, so I mentioned them.Steam Deck is for Steam exclusive users
Switch 2 is for Nintendo games

Xbox Ally is for Xbox and Windows users.

Good for you. My point was that ThinkPad is better investment than Ally X. I didn't mean Steam Deck, Switch 2 and upcoming Playstation handheld.Im not considering one. What gives you that impression?
Not if you need a handheld it isn't. Which was my point. We can do this all night if you like.Good for you. My point was that ThinkPad is better investment than Ally X. I didn't mean Steam Deck, Switch 2 and upcoming Playstation handheld.
The unannounced imaginary Playstation Handheld is reasonably priced huh.You can play epic games, gog and other launchers in steam Deck with lutris or heroic launcher. Also Ally X can't play most of your Xbox library, especially not 360/OG BC, so I don't know why you said someone who has Xbox console will buy this. Windows 11 is worse than Xbox System Software.
she should have on clean socks if she is going to be in a stock photo.
It has to be reasonably priced of they are making a custom SoC pledging 10 millions units to AMD. I am expecting reasonable price from the creators of PSP and Vita. The unannounced imaginary Playstation Handheld is reasonably priced huh.
You are absolutely not from this world are you.
Makes Jez Corden seem very normal, or did Phil touch you as a kid?
Keep on fanboying brother
If you need a handheld, you will get the better options I mentionedNot if you need a handheld it isn't. Which was my point. We can do this all night if you like.
Which has precisely what to do with your claim that a thinkpad is a better option than an Ally?If you need a handheld, you will get the better options I mentioned
Steam Deck/Switch 2/Upcoming Playstation handheld are sufficient for those that want to go that route. No need for a 1000$ Ally.
Get a good handheld or get a good gaming laptop or get a ThinkPad.Which has precisely what to do with your claim that a thinkpad is a better option than an Ally?
Get a good handheld or get a good gaming laptop or get a ThinkPad.
Why would you need a Ally X?
Yes. ThinkPads are amazing laptops. What are you even trying to say here for like 2 pages? Every fucking handhelds on the planet including one we do not even have an announcement of is better and sufficient, but a thinkpad is better than a $1000 ally?
No idea, I never said i wanted one, but if i did i certainly wouldn't buy a thinkpad instead.Get a good handheld or get a good gaming laptop or get a ThinkPad.
Why would you need a Ally X?
My original comment was not addressed to you though. No idea, I never said i wanted one, but if i did i certainly wouldn't buy a thinkpad instead.
I already have a 4090 laptop, 5080 laptop and a Switch 2. As I told you earlier my gaming needs are covered.
I was simply pointing out that if actually was in the market for another handheld and i fancied an Ally then the last thing id be considering would be a midrange work station with integrated graphics.
Its fucking retarded to think that would even be an option to fulfill someones handheld gaming needs. Are there better handhelds out there? Of course there are but again that wasn't the discussion.
I'm disengaging from this frankly stupid conversation.
Why did you think it's about you?You can get a ThinkPad with 1 TB SSD and dual boot Linux cheaper than Ally.
Yes. ThinkPads are amazing laptops.
Especially loved by the Linux community for it's build quality.
Its about the games. You still don't answer, why would every other handhelds including a non existing one be a better solution if someone wants the current powerful handheld on the market right now not consider an Ally X over a thinkpad
Its about the games.
Switch 2 can play Switch and Switch 2 games.
The upcoming Playstation handheld will let you play PS4 and select PS5 games.
Steam Deck will give you access to Steam at half the price of Ally X.
Why would want a Ally X?
Steam Deck really is enough for a PC handheld though. Why would you want a thinkpad for a gaming portable?
If you want a powerful steam deck you have to upgrade to Asus' portables![]()
I get that the beauty of these is that you get a whole ass PC in your hands, which I think is pretty awesome. I still kind of want one.
The thing about these handhelds is that they're still so big you'll need to carry them in a bag, so I just as soon put a thin gaming laptop and Nintendo handheld in the bag instead.
The laptop isn't dependent on anything you can't carry to un-nerf itself, you can drop it on a coffee table and have a big display and full physical keyboard, along with a "normal" PC experience for non-gaming. Of course if it weren't for Switch the handhelds would be more tantalizing, but the two items are so complementary I can't justify a handheld that just plays Steam games worse than my laptop.
Steam Deck really is enough for a PC handheld though.
I have a Steam Deck and put Windows on it, I would love an Ally X if I had the spare cash.Steam Deck really is enough for a PC handheld though.
Maybe if you play only just indies and older games. For newer titles there just isn't enough hardware grunt to power them to a satisfactory level. Fyi I have one.Steam Deck really is enough for a PC handheld though.
Biggest problem with it all is still the use of FSR. My eye can spot it a mile away at low resolution. It's very distracting. Immediatly if I had one of those handheld it would be FSR 4 mods everywhere.
