I would've thought the bows would have been supplied in the Olympics. It means they can't afford good bows.

Sports funding is a very strange beast.Just realized that some of the small countries arent even shooting with 'competition' carbon limb bows in Archery. According to the Hoyt website, it looks like the girl from Bhutan used intermediate limbs.![]()
It means they can't afford good bows.
What does that even mean?

We're hosting the damn Olympics but for some reason took away funding from our volleyball squad two years ago.
Seems like a common trend is to over invest in a few sports and ignore others.
Aww poor alvarez
Men's 8 coming up in the rowing.
Redgrave predicting a Silver, the Germans are too good apparently.
Canadians got the repeat gold on lock.

We spent £10bn hosting the Olympics. We knew we would be competing in many sports we really shouldn't be because of host advantage. There's only so much money, specially in times like these. It's not like two more years of funding would make a big difference for Team GB's performance in the insanely competitive Volleyball scenario.
Wait that was GB's first gold? Is this the worst preformance by a host nation ever?
Piece of string, curvy stick. Job done.I would've thought so too. Most of the top archers appear to be using the Hoyt HPX with F7 limbs (around 600€ each): http://www.hoytrecurve.com/recurve_bows/hoyt_recurve_limbs.php
The Bhutan girl had the ZR330 limb (180€.

Not throwing those girls a few grand their way is borderline criminal IMO.
