Believe it or not, gamers who like the Atelier series are NOT pedophiles

Post some official Peanuts artwork with a full on panty shot of Charlie Brown's sister and then we'll talk.

You could go after 90% of anime if you're attacking panty shots, past and current ones even those children approved.

It's a Nintendo game your safe.
Speaking of nintendo i don't want to derail the thread but they're like the only company this gen that doesn't get call furry or w/e for having anthropomorphic characters.Where did all this hate in gaming suddenly come from

I'll admit that I stayed away from this series because of some certain aspects but I did like the art style. I finally gave in since I wanted a good rpg to play and it was actually a pretty good game and I don't regret playing it.

...wait, are we still talking about the game or are we now discussing about "cute things"?...

Allegedly cute things. It's a subjective battle.

Well, the thing is most people can't discuss the games since they didn't play them.

The avatars mentioned in this thread so far aren't sexualized in any way besides maybe this one.

Having a picture of an animated character, regardless of age, doesn't make you something, and it's quite a ludicrous assumption when you don't actually have proof from their posting history or what have you.

People are allowed to like cute things, I don't in particularly like cute things, but everyone has their own opinion. You either accept that or you don't, but liking drawings that aren't drawn in a way to be what you are describing doesn't make a person what you are accusing them of.

I actually find the trolls who are well awere of how unreasonable they are being much more annoying than the genuinely clueless.

I honestly have trouble telling them apart unless they're really overt about it. I'm gullible like that. Either way, both are damn annoying.

Of course not, they are hebephiles/ephebophiles. Being serious, the Atelier seems fairly tame. It's definitely not Hyperdimension Neptunia.

Repressed homophobia. Hell, most of the time there's nothing "repressed" about it at all.

It probably has less to do with that and more to do with people feeling that people need to mature by abandoning cutesy, childish things, like how dudebros hate on people who still play Nintendo games.

Shouldn't those people mature by abandoning dudebro games?

If playing these games makes that of you, then playing any shooter makes you a killer.

Same stupid argument. Let it be. I haven't played any of them, but i no way shape or form does that have any relevance. There's a higher chance that sort of person would buy that game over another, sure, but the same can be said of murderers.

Well the assumption is that anybody that finds these kind of things "cute" has limited or no sexual experience and are quite naive and awkward, which is pretty creepy cos you basically have man-children playing games where they talk to 15 year old anime characters when they should probably be having sex with women or at least trying to have sex with women

But I mean, that's a generalisation. I'm sure some people have sex with human women and like anime children. Still. I don't see a relation to homophobia. I don't think gay men play games with little girls. Wouldn't make much sense.

I'm supposed to do this now, right?

Now my avatar is now Arya Stark, a character who is canonically a little girl, and is portrayed by an actress who is the same age as my little sister.

BAN THIS SICK FILTH!

But look at how angry Kirby is. That negates the cute, right?

The funny thing is, the dudebro games are being played by 8 year-olds.

Real mature.

It's sad i don't remember people call each other pedos during the ps2 generation, in fact most of the people i knew back then had diverse taste in games. Now if a character is a female or not up to western standards in looks( forcing "sexiness" on the majority of females)there's some kind of backlash.I've never played the Atelier series but i just wanted to give my input on the matter about this "pedo" shit people fling around this gen.

Great post, yeah where were all the people calling out "pedos" when Atelier Iris: Eternal Mana dropped back in '05 (first game in the series to come to the US)? I think now all of a sudden with the rise of the 'dudebro' gamer there's a huge backlash to anything that looks remotely "exotic" in games.

I've played Eternal Mana which was an OK game, and a bit of Totori and that was very very good. Very clean look, great character designs (I'm a huge fan of the colors used in the art), and a really speedy turn-based battle system that's becoming an endangered species nowadays.

Cute things are cute. I'll never understand why there is such a stigma for males to like cute things.

Yup, it's really sad. You think people would get over this, thinking every single man has to only be into gritty stuff like changing car oil, watching MMA, and shit like that.

Art style didn't appeal to me and since they focus on item creation, I'll have to pass (Has nightmares about trying to create stuff in Star Ocean 3 or hunting for items in FFXII).

cant it just be something they like? there's people whose avatars are cookies or pies, I dont assume they want to be the pie or they want to fuck the pie.

Fucking a pie isn't illegal. Fuck all the pie you want.

if she's from a tv show or film? utterly fucking astoundingly normal

Not normal to have an avatar of an underage girl. Not normal at all. Having it be a drawing of an underage girl doesn't change it all that much. It's creepy.

I hope you never step foot in a Harry Potter forum.

Haven't, and don't plan too. If you have a thing for Hermione and you're of legal age.. not cool.

Look at me, I'm a badass because I play as a shaved gorilla viking drinking beer, punching criminal scum and spitting fire instead of a girl throwing magic stars and picking flowers.

I like playing shooting games because I enjoy the experience of warfare and violent competition so long as there are absolutely no repercussions (i.e., people dying or being harmed in any way). It allows me to do something that I'd never be able to experience in real life.

So why do people like games with little girl upskirts?

If you guys think the Atelier series is lolibait, then wait till you see Mugen Souls.

This stuff makes you a man son...

Read the OP and you will find out

Because the game is about more than little girl upskirts? Rorona is a tough game imo.
