I don't understand this 30km Point Race

120 laps. Every 10 laps they have a sprint. First in the sprint gets 5 points, second gets 3 points, third gets 2 points and fourth gets 1 point. If you lap the group you get 20 points. If you get lapped you lose 20 points. Highest points at the end of the race wins.

Christ GB woman's hockey team are really under performing today. It's like they have no energy....Getting too busy in the Olympic Village it seems...

considering that USA took thirty three 3 pointers, I don't know how a further 3 point line would have been an advantage to us. Sure it spreads out the floor more, but our half court offense sucks anyway.

It would have hurt Lithuania's shooting which is their biggest advantage against us. And being able to spead them out and exploit 1 on 1 match ups would be a huge advantage for us.

USA off to a rough start

It's still just pool play though right?

Honduras playing some nice football, not digging the play acting on both sides.

Brazil were sleeping, Honduras is playing balls out.

Just read a piece where Hope Solo admits takes to taking party of these olympic village 'hook ups'.

:Sad panda face:

i'd like to see murray have another chance for gold since he will get murdered by federer in singles, but lisicki is pretty much the most likable player in the world. so torn.

It's starting with Ledecky now

In a sport where competitors spend years trying to shave fractions of seconds off their personal best (PB) times, Ledecky has been hacking off large chunks, more than 11 seconds this month.

At the U.S. Olympic Trials earlier this month, Ledecky carved more than five seconds off her PB to make the team for London. She reduced it by more than another five seconds on Friday to win the Olympic gold.

Ye denied any wrongdoing and swimming's world governing body backed her, saying she passed all her drug tests. The Chinese said their accusers were racist and would never point the finger at their own.

Then along came Ledecky. Within moments of her win, Ledecky's Wikipedia entry had been vandalised. At her post-race conference, the inevitable inquisition began.

"It's totally false," she replied when asked if she had doped.
