I don't mind the medals raining in cycling, and fair play to impressive domination, but some Brits in this thread said badminton, fencing etc were 'odd' sports, while the reality is they're at least hundreds of times bigger worldwide than track cycling.

And track cycling has a number of weird events like the one with the motorcycle.

Any talk of removing or changing the events in a sport due to domination by one country is foolish. Sports is constantly in flux, we're dominant now but that can change if we lose focus or other teams out more focus into that area.

So according to haters we need to remove swimming from the Olympics due to US domination, Cycling because of GB domination, and Racquet sports because of Chinese domination. Then maybe, just maybe, we could have a real competitive Olympics!
Get rid of distance running because the East Africans dominate. It's not fair on everyone else. Everyone's a winner!

Nah, things like badminton and fencing are valid sports. There are far stranger ones in the Olympics.

No what we have to have is that a swimmer can only compete in 3 events, like the bikes and only one team representing a nation like tennis in all racquet sports.

Haha, so good.

25 of the first 50 of all the athletes with the most medals are swimmers.

When there are actually 26 different sports available in the Olympics, that's just weird.
I don't really care about total medal count in the first place, but it's just way off-balance.
Track and field has literally not even started with medals. Swimming is done almost. Many other sports have not yet been completed either. You gotta think people

Jess Ennis, Mo Farah and the two guys in the Long Jump.

It's going to be an awesome evening of track and field.

GO GB!
