I don't think so. China simply sent athletes to every event simply because they can in 2008 (does not need to qualify for host). Chances that all the extra bodies (football, baseball, softball, man version of any team sport etc...) can win anything is probably slim to none.

Apparently he's been making trouble all evening, didn't have a ticket or keeping sitting in seats belong to other people, shouted abuse at Dwain Chambers; stewards didn't do much, got him away after the woman 400m but he came back and it as only when he threw the plastic bottle when the police jumped him.

North Korea and Kazakhstan beasted with something like 6-7 weightlifting golds from their Chinese-trained athletes, and at least 2 China lifters bombed out. That's where China lost the medal game, if it comes down to it.
