No but they did remove a huge number of events from the track program though, individual pursuits, time trials, point/scratch races, madison and maybe more I can't remember. They combined most of them into the omnium.
I kind off understand why, track cycling is very exclusive and very expensive, but it's sad for a track cycling fan.

It's fun to see so many gaffers surprised at handball, it's pretty huge in Europe and an amazing sport.

Fucking Taekwondo selectors. Fuck their shitty agenda, Cook should have gone to the games, he is ranked number one in the world for that weight class. There is no other country in the world that would take a fighter ranked 87 in the world over the number one ranked fighter. Fucking bunch of fucking arseholes. They should all go and die in a fire for ruining GB chances for gold and for side lining Cook who should have had an automatic place in the team. Bunch of fuckface selectors. Hey, I played that in school too. Only we're not American, we're Canadian.
Also at my school we played a version of American handball, only we called it redass. It was played like HORSE. Lose and you stand up against the wall with your back to the winner and they get to chuck the ball at your ass as hard as they can, thus giving you a red ass.

The TKD selectors wanted to play silly-bugger politics and punish Cook for opting out of their centralised control training/coaching regime thereby denying them "x" (£) amount of lottery funding grants.
Cook said the men's TKD training was amateur league and so opted out and funded his own training from his sponsorship money and proceeded to rise to the number one ranking about six months before the games because of the improved guidance. The selectors are a bunch of small minded, petty, idiots. They all need to be sacked.
Choosing an unknown, poorly ranked guy was Cook's punishment and it has denied both him and Team GB a gold or silver medal. Cook has beaten every single person in the draw a number of times.
